That is the disconnect that I see in the story.
By hiding the body for a month and disposing of it elevates the crime. I’m having a hard time imagining it.
More than likely they would lose their other children.
That’s an overwhelming motive, IMO.
In a month, one could eat a small child. I am not suggesting that this is what happened, just saying...

Why would you do this and take the risk of someone finding the body? Makes no sense.
