For the record, I was looking at “Cambridge” and assumed England. I didn’t look at the source. :-( It’s even more surprising a story from Canada didn’t slant to gay rights.

Dating myself but there was a time when “pink and black” was all the rage!

You can take this only so far. If a kid wears something he knows is socially unacceptable then he is going to get flack for it. That's just human nature. He should not be beat up or teased about his physical features, but kids will comment on clothing. Welcome to reality. I don't think that makes those guys bullies unless they hit him or something. And in this case there are two wrongs competing against each other, homosexuality and teasing. Of significance is the question of whether the kid was flaunting femininity or if he just had a hint of pink in his shirt. How wilfull was the pink shirted kid? Did his mom make him wear the shirt? Etc.

Kids will be kids. All teasing will not be eliminated unless you gag them. I do remember a kid with a harelip being teased pretty significantly. Now that was tragic because the kid couldn't help it. Still, how far can you go controlling kids being kids?

Its amazing what the scumbags who went to my elementary school got away with...

Yes, but that's why high school reunions are so fun. Those scumbags have gone nowhere in most cases, and the toughened up survivors are doing much better. It's not good, it's intensely painful at the time, but the victims should know that the 'bullies' are going to be announcing things like "Attention, K Mart shoppers!" in the future while they go on to a better life.

I never stopped wearing pink. The women look at me and say it is a sign of a man who is confident in his sexuality.

You don’t need to t wear pink.

Just make sure the bully’s clothes are red, - in spatters, at least..

“probably still have some pink long johns tucked away somewhere in the closet.”

That’s a scary thought you coming out of the closet in your pink long johns!

Now that is sssssoooo true. Reminds of that line from Miss Congeniality where Victor Melling is showing Gracie Hart how to walk:

Victor Melling: [teaching Gracie how to glide] See? Glide. It’s all in the buttocks. Don’t I look pretty?

Gracie Hart: It takes a very secure man to walk like that.

On one hand, I really applaud these kids for striking back non-violently, and more importantly, taking a stand for someone else. If there was more of that character in the world, we'd live in a nicer place.

On the other hand, I distinctly remember being picked on and harassed because I was a 'nerd'. Or I should say that it continued until I unexpectedly slammed the main joker into the locker and told him that if he kept yakking his jaw I was going to smash it with a golf club. When I made it clear I wasn't interested in a fair fight, suddenly the cost/benefit ratio of harassing me dropped. I got virtually no lip from anyone for the rest of high school.

Actually, it has been suggested by the APA that violent hostility to homosexuality is a sign of repressed homosexual tendencies... take that for what it's worth, Mr Bully...

Yeah... and outspoken conservatives are really closet liberals.

>>>Kick the bullies a— and that will stop it too ...<<<

That's a better solution - cheaper, quicker and far more effective. Plus it's educational!
