I’m reading The Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright. It’s an historical account of Al Qaeda and the road to 9/11.
Really gets you inside of their heads.
bin Laden wanted to get America into a war. Why the dems don’t get it, i don’t understand.
denial.
It’s always fascinated me how the Muslim religion can inspire acts of martyrdom like suicide bombers, yet the frontline “warriors” are essentially cowards, attacking women and children and skulking in the shadows - when confronted head on by an organized and trained military, they are wiped out quickly. I have no doubt if our guys and gals in Iraq were allowed to truly hunt the savages, the war would have been over for a while now.
What scares me is the upcoming election. If a Dem should win, and God forbid it’s Hillary...imagine her response if they pulled a wide-scale, coordinated attack on schools. It’d take a week just for a Hillary! whitehouse to even admit it’s terror related!
By the time a Dem controlled White House reacted to such an event, the events would be over, and there would be mobs in the streets attacking mosques and anyone even remotely Middle Eastern, and I can fully see the likes of Hillary ordering troops to fire on Americans to end the attacks.
The horror of attacks on schools goes far beyond the loss of children, as horrible and as sick as the mere thought is.
I think the terrorists know of the deep, deep, dark divide people like the Clinton’s and Kennedy’s have created in our society, and will play all sides against each other. They miscalculated our response with 9-11, but it was a response guaged against a Democratic White House, not a Republican one - and Hillary/whoever will be far, far, far worse if any national tradgedy occurs, and I think they’re waiting for the change of power. The @ssholes like Pelosi have bet over backwards to cater to those who seek to kill us, and it will come back to haunt us in spades. Pelosi and her ilk will be the first to run to the cameras and declare their innocence and false outrage, and as always, do nothing.
These are dark times.
Yes, but the schools are SOFT TARGETS.
Think about an elementary school. How many guns are there. How many security personnel are there? How many veterans and off-duty police officers are walking around inside?
Of course someone could pull off an attack on a mall; it was even planned by a guy here in NW Illinois who was going to attack a mall with a semi-auto pistol and grenades at the height of Christmas shopping last year. But a mall jsut isn't as soft as a school, and we know that terror groups have been caught with school floor plans. And that's if you forget that they've already done it once, at Beslan.
I want Petraeus (not tomorrow, but soon someday) to tell us he'll cut 30K off our finest in the ME theatre to come home and go after homeland cells/threats.
“If my sons school was under attack I would drive right up to it and unload clip after clip after clip after clip into these bastards. If they think parents are going to stand by and let the local police and government negotiate some bullshit response all the while our kids are being raped and shot...they have another thing coming.
Talk about waking a sleeping giant? F-ck with our kids and you will see what a response is like from America. This time..it wont be the military doing it in a foreign land.”

Unfortunately, your reaction would be exactly what the enemy is expecting. You say you “would drive right up to it and unload clip after clip after clip after clip into these bastards.” You are not being realistic. I doubt you would make it to the front door of the school before you were killed. Read the chilling details of the Russian school attack. At a public school like my child attends, there would be zero resistance to intruders entering the school and, once inside, they would have complete control of the school in under one minute. Every teacher and administrator would be dead at the will of the intruders and parents like you trying to enter the school to save your child would be mowed down.
I doubt the police would be trying to “negotiate” anything. Every state and local law enforcement agency in your state has probably been made aware that the terrorists in the school are not going to surrender or show mercy. The sole consideration under such an attack will be to kill the attackers before they kill the school occupants.
I understand where you are coming from, but you are being naive if you think you would get anywhere close to the school. As the article very clearly demonstrates, these nutjobs are suicidal and otherwise crazy, but they have already planned on your heroic coming-in for your children.
“bin Laden wanted to get America into a war. Why the dems dont get it, i dont understand.”
The Dems DO get it, do not ever think they don’t.
It’s not THEIR war, thus they don’t support it.
If Clinton had started the war, there would have been little to no opposition from the elected who now oppose it.
There was ZERO, and I mean ZERO protest when Clinton “invaded” Haiti, or got us involved in a civil war in Eastern Europe, or any other time he ordered troops around.
Remember, during his first inauguration, Joel Silver wrote about discomfort at military jets flying overhead? Then he realized, “Oh, their OURS now!”, and was okay with them.
THAT is the true mindset of the Democratic party.
Trust me, if that @sshole Hillary gets elected, within six months they will “discover” terrorists are BAD! Who knew? Wow, what a trip!
And they will proceed to do a 180 on everything they have said and done since Bush was elected. It’s all been payback for impeachment, and the usual “MINE MINE MINE” attitude of liberals.
It’s not THEIR war. Pay for it? Pfffft. Fight it? Riiiiight. Let Bush sink in the polls, who cares. As long as it doesn’t effect my election donations and kick-backs and bribes, YAWN.
You’ve seen our police response to a couple of armed children invading a school?
Have you lost your mind? What the heck would home schooling (or private schooling, or government schooling) do to prevent someone from driving an airplane into an office building?
The point is that if your kids aren't spending their days at a big fat terror soft target, they'll be safer. Nothing else.
Thanks for the eduction! I mean that!
I really wasn’t paying attention during the 90s.
I’m just beginning to learn about the twin spawn of satan - bill and hillary.
Government-run schools screw kids. End of story. If you want to whine at us for saying so, Eaker, then please feel free to also whine at Freepers who tell people not to clean their guns with a round in the chamber.
In situations such as this I am positive I will not be anywhere near sane nor coherent with my son involved. They can get exactly what they want from me. My tagline has said it for months. I’m not going down without a fight and I am certainly not going to let my 7 yr old go down without me fighting for him.
Period.
Naive or not I know I am not alone.
>>>Most Southerners were not members of the Klan, but they didn’t go after the Klan, because they felt that despite a few excesses, they generally held the same views.<<<
Do you make just this crazy stuff up, or were you taught it in ACLU-controlled public schools?
People don’t like to hear this, but I think a byproduct of the war in Iraq is that it’s a kill zone the size of California. Many of the jihadis would rather fight the infidel in Iraq and die gloriously then come to the U.S., sit around waiting for orders and possibly get arrested.
It’s like a roach motel: Terrorists check in, but they don’t check out. Meanwhile, it greatly diminishes the pool AQ has available for strikes here.
The ideology of the muslim cult is totally incompatible with Western traditions and mores. The sooner we get that into our thick, brainwashed skulls, the sooner we will kick all muslims out of our country.
The terrorists might also be counting on parents to gather near the scene, at which point the second team comes in with the car bombs.
I applaud your efforts to improve the educational opportunities for your children. I am a strong advocate for parental choice, homeschooling, private schooling, etc., and have had my complaints about the monopoly control enjoyed by the public education bureaucracy. That said, your dialogue is embarrassing to other homeschoolers, and in due time, will also be embarrassing to you.
One great thing about the internet is that it has provided channels for communication between millions of individuals that never previously existed. One downside is that whatever we write today, regardless of motivation or level of passion, will be publicly available probably forever, or longer than most of us will be around. If we ponder this for just a little while, we should find some incentive to express ourselves with as much clarity and civility as we can muster.
I have no doubt that many words written and spoken prior to the Revolutionary War disappeared into the dustbin of history. The speeches and writings that mattered most have been preserved, studied, memorized, memorialized, repeated, copied, and reused ad infinitum. The reasons are obvious.
'Nuff said. Now back to the topic of unity in response to terrorism...
“Muslims in the US will see just what a ‘well regulated militia’ is as an army of Nascar dads comes at them fullo loaded...”
No kidding.
Cry allah akbar and let slip the hyenas of war?
Beck has a tape for a training camp in Afghanistan. They are training to take over elementary schools. They issue commands in English. When parents respond to the massacre, they blow them up with car bombs. It is all captured on TV.

INDEED.
and the likes of Shrillery and her NWO goons and puppet masters are licking their blood thirsty power mongering chops at the prospect of all the bloody mayhem and the added gestapo, tyrannical, martial law maneuvers it will afford them toward the global tyrannical government.
MAY God have mercy on us and cause all the Jihadi’s and their NWO puppet masters to fall in the pit they have dug in massive numbers BEFORE they can cause death and destruction to others.
