All airlines (and trains, buses, public buildings etc.) should have published dress codes, because they do not this case seems arbitrary. Just depending on peoples "good taste" gave us rap music, leisure suites, men in speedos, and the Hillary pants suite - clearly we must have standards. Arbitrary rules with arbitrary enforcement a bad recipe, but there is probably more to the story than is reported.

Yes, and they need to publish the ingredient and nutritional contents of their meals, warn people not to turn the audio up too high, and put warnings on the blankets that they’re a choking hazard if you cram them in your mouth...

Well, you get the point. There’s a thing called common sense, and posting rules/warnings for every possible situation is simply ridiculous. What are you going to do? Set up a system of crotch measurements to determine if the genitalia exposure limit is exceeded?
