Nice summary. Agree on Brownie and Paulie.

Noted on Fox, some were turned off by Giuliani’s oft reference to NY. What the hell record is he suppose to refer to, his time as a Mayor in Sri Lanka?

If Giuliani wasn’t running, he’d support McCain for President. Excellent. That ought to sink both of ‘em. :-)
Two down for the count there!!! Toss in Paul for #3 out...if he was ever in that is.

well, I watched the whole debate and I have to say I was a little dissaponted Paul spent all his time on foreign policy. He fumbled around with it a bit, not stressing the nonintervention and nonnationbuilding and robert taft approach. He had a perfect opportunity to hit one out of the park against the IRS and went off on a tangent. I think he should have stressed his domestic agenda more. He also seemed a bit too angry. So, I still think he did well, but he has this wonderful domestic agenda, the most conservative constituional candidate on, which he didn’t even mention. Also, what was the slip up about international law about? He sponsored one of the only bills introduced to get the US out of the UN!

btw, if you’re interested in more info about Ron Paul see:

Nav_Mom,
Instead of trusting Wikipedia, which is closely trolled by Paulites (check the history and you’ll see), check OnTheIssues.org on Paul’s voting record (vs. rhetoric)

http://ontheissues.org/Ron_Paul.htm

On the issues is pretty trustworthy.. The main problem with that site is if a candidate doesn’t have a vote record on a specific issue, they are rated right in the middle. You shouldn’t have to worry about that with Paul because he has been in DC so long.

At the very bottom of that page is a chart where they map out his votes, as you can see, he rates as a Moderate Libertarian- again, this is based on his votes, not rhetoric.

Alone among the contenders, Paul, a veteran Texas congressman with a libertarian streak, made the case for withdrawing troops.

That drew a sharp challenge from Chris Wallace, one of the debate questioners, “”””who asked whether the United States should take its marching orders from al-Qaida?”””””

LOL

Brownback lost it for me when he mixed up Thomas Friedman with Milton Freeman. (I see a lot of people do this when they give credence to TF’s World is Flat Book.)

So...your a PAULISTIAN?

Ron Paul is crazy.... OVERALL....

How do u support ‘overall’ crazy...from the ‘one issue’ crazy(whatever it is?) that u beleve in?

In other words....should the Republican party support a crazy man if he is popular with the mooonbats?

“Ron Paul, now he makes this debate really fun to watch. Whatever his position is, you get people from both sides in the audience hoopin and a hollerin. Atleast he makes it exciting.”

heh heh... I agree. Same reaction here on FR, interesting to read the comments, most of which consist of little substance. lol

LOL, none of them, since the rest of the Republican candidates for PRESIDENT of the United States, are REAL Americans.

Not to mention, Durbin, Kennedy, Murtha, or any Dim candidate running for the President of the United States, who gives aid and comfort to our enemy, while trashing our troops.

The gallows will be full, for sure:)

I agree that Mr. Giuliani has nothing to reference other than his time in New York City. What he did there was good, but a weakness is that he's never represented any larger area. People in New York City like to think of the city as wonderfully diverse, but to many of us in "flyover country," New York City people are just millions of copies of the same thing all in different wrappers. The fact that Mr. Giuliani has never represented any larger and more diverse area is a weakness. His entire career has been spent dealing with urban issues and urban concerns. That narrow focus is a weakness in his running to represent the entire country.

To some extent, my favorite candidate, Duncan Hunter, has the same problem. While I'm sure that there is some diversity in his Congressional district, he's spent all of his time representing one group of people in one area. Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul have the same weakness.

Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, John McCain, and Fred Thompson at least have the advantage of having representing an entire state with the geographic diversity that comes with any state. They have had to think in terms of both rural concerns and urban concerns. Governors Huckabee and Romney have had to balance the concerns of legislators from a variety of areas just as a president would.

Bill

“but a weakness is that he’s never represented any larger area. People in New York City”

Conversely, he’s miles ahead of Hilly and Obama who’ve never run anything more than their respective big mouths.
