“Boo-frikkin’ hoo! He tried to kill himself. What, his Ferrari wasn’t ready in time for the w/e?”

***

Story goes that he was despondent over the break-up of his latest romance. Usually, though, the depression have been going on for a long time. The break-up might be “the last straw,” but usually, there is something happening under the surface long before then. The suicide attempt is usually the proverbial cry for help that people finally notice.

I don’t profess to be an expert on the subject, but I may understand it a little bit. I have depression on and off myself. I’m lucky to have mine under control, but there are some who never get it under control. I’ve never been suicidal, probably because I’m too chicken to die, but I can understand how depression can lead to suicide or a suicide attempt.

One can be indifferent to Mr. Wilson’s situation, but those who laugh at it are heartless and cruel.

Little more info about Owen Wilson: Apparently he had been doing massive amounts of cocaine and heroin after Kate Hudson broke up with him. His brother Luke Wilson came over to see him and found him drugged out, and bleeding from the wrist. Some Owen Wilson movies include: You, me, &Dupree; Zoolander; Starsky & Hutch; The Life Aquatic; and Wedding Crashers. They aren't great cinematic achievements, but they are funny, and Owen Wilson hasn't denounced America on foreign soil yet (at least not to my knowledge). Regardless of their feelings, most of these "Frat Pack" guys just concentrate on making funny movies.
