After being married to Bobbie Gentry Jim Stafford said he knew why Billy Joe jumped off that bridge.ROTFL!! "Ode to Billy Joe" is one of my favorite songs, and it evokes strong memories. Every time I hear it, I can smell creosote, and I'm walking down a back road in Gautier MS with my sister and our friends, by the old creosote plant. I don't even know if it's still there, but it will always be there in my memory.
