The Israeli army has decided that war with Syria is unlikely and is rotating forces out of the occupied Golan Heights after months of cross-border tension, Israeli security officials said. The decision by Israel's military followed months of increasing tensions along the frontier and concerns that the escalation could result in war.
According to the AP, the Israeli officials said Syria's military has now reduced its war readiness. Israeli forces scheduled to hold maneuvers on the Golan Heights would now be moved away from the border to the country's south to further reduce tensions, the officials said. The Israeli army had previously increased its training exercises in the Golan Heights since the end of the war with Hizbullah last summer.

Let’s see if I’ve got this right. The Temple Mount is negotiable. Terrorists who’ve killed Israeli citizens and police officers can be released. Now Syria is deemed ‘not hostile’ and the Golan heights security measures can be stood down, if I’m reading this accurately.
Wow. Who’s running Israel these days Arafat back from the dead?
Quisling is running the show.
Huh !? Occupied Golan Heights ?
A. Judea/Samaria deede to the Tribe of Judah.
B. Spoils of war go to the victor.

Sadly, that certainly has to be an explanation that’s on the table.

From other articles, this doesn't appear to be much other than a relocation of training exercises. In the unlikely event Syria should view it as an exploitable weakness in IDF deployment, they'll likely be disappointed. The ensuing war will give the UN and State Department something to do.
But doesn't an army usually train in the kind of terrain where it thinks the battle is most likely to be fought? It that's the case, this could be interpreted by some as Israel letting her guard down. With Olmerde as PM and Barak as Defense Minister, there could be reason for concern.
I was in the Golan last week. Not only was there a strong IDF presence, I saw countless number of armor brigades training in the open not far from the Syrian border.
Good. Glad to hear it.
Thanks for the upbeat news. When you take into account the dovish predelictions of the current Israeli government, one has to be concerned with reports such as the one posted.
But one has to consider the source too.
