Smoke fan here. Hubby likes Jeff Gordon. I’m a “newbie”.
Got a ping list I can join?
Congrats to Jeff Burton for winning last night’s race.

I sure hope so. Even if it just jumps the Yucatan and slides into Mexico, it will stir up the Gulf for another week, meaning more rain. :(

Talking NHRA... did Hillary Will or Melanie Troxal make the cut or are they out? Hillary had a home coming her in Eureka at Big Louie’s Pizza. I forgot she was here...

Thanks, NR! Getting ready to watch the race here shortly. Like I said, I'm a new racing fan. Used to think that it was just a bunch of guys driving around in a circle. Sat down to watch a few races with hubby...then before you knew it, I started knowing the drivers, their numbers, their sponsors, their crew chiefs, the owners...learned who Bill France was (R.I.P.)...started to understand some of the pit strategy...some of the driving strategy...guess I'm hooked.
Got a question for y'all. Why do they have to change tires so often????? I get mad if mine don't last 60,000-70,000 miles. And the darned things have no tread! I don't understand how that works.
Gotta post a picture of my driver:

1/2 hour to the pre-race on ESPN ~ that would be 7pm ET
California style HOT and FAST

I miss DW announcing the races. The “boogity boogity boogity” thing is goofy, but fun.

The tire treads are soft and sticky. They wear out pretty quickly. If they had a harder compound, they'd last longer, but wouldn't grip the track. BTW, excellent choice in drivers there :o)

Yeah, Tony is great! I wish he would be more careful what he says sometimes, but he has a big heart, and he sure knows how to work his way through the pack.
It was hard to choose a favorite. I like most of the guys. The only one who really drives me nuts right now is Juan Pablo Montoya.

Thanks for the tire info, BTW. I hear the guys complain about them when Goodyear makes changes, but I didn’t understand enough yet to know why.

There, that's better. :)

Juan “I didn’t do it” Montoya.

You got that right. The guy’s a menace. But I heard someone say last week that JPM reminded him of a younger Tony Stewart. I wouldn’t know, because I wasn’t paying attention then.

At 108 degrees in Fontana, I would say that it’s hot. ;-)
To: Purrcival
I’m not sure either except I honestly think Smoke has a LOT more talent.
