Matthews: Craig 'A Sexual Deviant'; Do Dem Prez Candidates Agree?

Chris Matthews, opening this afternoon's "Hardball":

Idaho Senator Larry Craig, cultural warrior of the right, stands naked tonight, exposed as both a sexual deviant and a world-class hypocrite.

Matthews presumably labelled Craig "a sexual deviant" based not on the mere fact of his presumptive homosexuality, but on his engaging in the kind of public "cruising" to which the senator pleaded guilty in Minnesota.

I challenge Matthews to flatly ask the Democratic presidential contenders and other Dem leaders he encounters in coming weeks whether they share his view that all men who engage in such conduct are "sexual deviants." Should make for some revealing and TV as Dems walk a tightrope between public mores and the sensibilities of one of the Dem party's important constituent groups.

Chris Mathews will NEVER ask this question of ANY Democratican office-seeker.

Because there is no good answer, the question is on the order of “Have you stopped beating your wife?” It is a gotcha reserved only for Republican officeholders.

Chris Mathews has never made a secret of his preference for a universe dominated in all important respects by very liberal thinkers and executives that adhere to a very specfic definition of what is “liberal”.

If Larry Craig is a sexual deviant, then what is Barney Frank? Or Ted Kennedy? Or Bill Clinton? Or Janet Reno? Or Chris Dodd? Does the fact that some of them chase members of the OPPOSITE sex make them any less obsessed? Why is it that homos should be "loud and proud" if they're lefties, but are supposed to be pariahs if they're (nominally) conservatives? If homosexuality is "just another lifestyle," then isn't it "just another lifestyle" for Craig too?
