Statement of Senator Craig:

BOISE, ID - Idaho Senator Larry Craig made the following statement in response to the Roll Call story this afternoon:

"At the time of this incident, I complained to the police that they were misconstruing my actions. I was not involved in any inappropriate conduct.

"I should have had the advice of counsel in resolving this matter. In hindsight, I should not have pled guilty. I was trying to handle this matter myself quickly and expeditiously."

Larry Craig is a Senate campaign manager for Romney. That might have something to do with this. I suspect Giuliani.

“I assume that once they determine each is interested they enter the same stall.”

That I can understand. But if their actions are short of that, can you really be charged with lewd behavior? Just for tapping toes? That seems pretty strict, to me...although I certainly believe the Senator was trying to initiate sexual contact. I guess my question is, is trying to initiate sexual contact, without any lewd behavior, against the law? And should it be?

As far as the topic at hand goes though, you are not a US Senator like Larry Craig. If innocent, his chances for justice would have been much better than yours were.

Yeah, he sure looks guilty as sin.

We've got to weed out these so-called Conservatives. At least we're honest about it, unlike the other side.

"So he was tapping his foot. Fine. I understand that is a signal for showing an interest."

I see nothing that warrants any kind of criminal activity in that. As long as they refrained from committing public sexual acts, which is what the police claim was occurring, there was nothing to be concerned with, or bother people about. It the men's room, so if a hand comes in under the wall, you can always wipe your shoe on it.

Rudy made larry craig act hinkey in the men’s rest room at a minnesota airport?

That would make rudy more diabolical than karl rove.

Perhaps this poor guy was tapping his foot? No indication that he was there for strange purposes, but he got attacked.

There are many signals that subculture groups use these diverse days, like tapping your foot or wearing a red shirt in Crips country or having the wrong ear pierced.

Those of you who were confused by November 2006 should know more and more: the GOP left the Conservative base, not the other way ‘round.

It was clear that somebody had SOMETHING on him, by the way he has been disregarding his constituents and voting with the dems... I’m speaking specifically of his immigration vote.

You're probably right. Since it was an open secret for years, why was he outed now?

No, the rest of the statement is:

“I have decided to become a Democrat.

“I visited Cap Odd, er, Cod, last week with Barney Frank.

“I will now be known as Senator Larry Craig-Frank, D-Idaho.”

That is a good question. He was already thinking of retiring, and represents a strongly Republican state.

What is sad about this whole thing is that if the pervert had been a DemocRAT, we would have never heard about it. This kind of crap is EXPECTED from DemocRATS and is considered normal behavior for them.

Time to push the "FEB".

(Faggot Ejection Button).

We are much better off WITHOUT such people.

Let him become a libertarian or a conservative democrat, or take up with Bob Bauman, someone like that. Good riddance.

I hope a man of strong moral character, and a strong defender of the US border, will be following his term in office.

I suspect the Minneapolis Police, since they were investigating lewd conduct in a men’s room. Craig just happened to get caught with his pants down, so to speak.
