I may not have a choice. I'm not going to sit on the sidelines if the alternative is Herr Hitlery.
I think we are all in that same boat, a lot of people are going to be facing a different candidate in the general election than they are in the primary. We hope our guy makes it, you for yours and me for Fred.
The sticking point for me in that, is that whoever gets the nomination and hopefully is elected needs a mandate. The more people who vote for him, the more of a mandate he will have. Whether it is your candidate or mine, they need a mandate to govern effectively. I would hope that freepers could refrain from trashing other candidates for that reason, and it will make it easier for everyone to pull together in the general election. I don’t mean it is wrong to say I prefer this one over the others, or I agree more with this candidate over others. But I mean outright trashing. Already a reporter got on FR and got a couple of the trash type comments about Fred. And wrote them into an article. That stuff does not help. Some people started trashing Fred, and other candidates, then if you reply in kind, it is hard to stop. I hope the negativity will fizzle out.
Although I have gotten really hot about some things said about Fred. It is hard not to. But I really try to refrain if I can rein it in.
I know several other candidates have gotten their share of trashing. Some freepers are famous for their trash talk. It makes it harder to stop.
