NOPE he's NOT "too angry". he simply thinks that "bubba, the LIAR" is "beyond reach" & also is likely a BIGOT. (i've known S********* for a LONG time & he doesn't suffer FOOLS/anti-Semites/idiots/LEFTISTS/anti-2d Amendment nuts/etc. well.)

one comment he made REF: "the synagogue issue" was that he felt that "bubba" was INCAPABLE of understanding (fwiw, i told S that i believed that "bubba" was smart enough to understand that concept BUT that he was just plain DISHONEST & a BIGOT. otoh, i suspect, based solely on the NONSENSE that you post, that you are NOT smart enough to understand that rather simple distinction.)that a CONGREGATION was NOT the same as a building.

just out of curiosity, don't you get tired of virtually EVERYONE on these threads believing you to be a DUMB-bunny & the most obvious/complete FOOL on the forum???

laughing AT you.

So, the Yankees didn't burn down the synagogue, they burned down the congregation? Is that what you're claiming now?

btw, the FIRST major acts of the DAMNyankee invaders, when the "open" City of Alexandria, VA was OCCUPIED (after President Davis AND lincoln, the TYRANT & WAR CRIMINAL,jointly agreed that NO TROOPS would EVER occupy Alexandria!) by union troops were:

1. the BURNING of the oldest synagogue in dixie &

2.the torching of TWO Catholic churches.

coincidence??? i think NOT!!!

Leaving aside your subsequent claim that Lincoln and Davis signed an agreement declaring Alexandria to be an open city, we're left with two alleged "facts" regarding the synagogue. First, that it was the oldest in dixie, and second, that it was burned down. The first is easily disproved, since there are several older synagogues scattered around the south, notably in Charleston in 1750, while Alexandria wasn't even founded until 1749 (when lots were sold) or 1779, (when it actually incorporated), depending how you want to count it.

Then there's the fact that the Beth El Hebrew Congregation was only founded in 1859 and put up their first building in 1871, by their own account and that of the historical marker on the site.

Now, I don't suppose that you can post any information about the yankees burning down anything in Alexandria, can you? In fact, the City of Alexandria's history museum, The Lyceum, says this on their website

Within days of Virginia's secession from the Union in the spring of 1861, Federal troops arrived in Alexandria to take possession of the city. Due to its excellent rail and water connections, the city became a major supply center for the Union Army and was included within the ring of fortifications protecting Washington. Many of the largest buildings in town, including The Lyceum, were confiscated for use as hospitals and for other official purposes and many new warehouses were constructed along the waterfront. By the end of the Civil War, Alexandria's economy was in shambles but the city itself had been spared the destruction witnessed by many other places in Virginia such as Richmond and Fredericksburg.
