Ron Paul Dominates Non-partisan Straw Poll

Washington D.C. 8/27/2007 5:20 PM GMT (FINDITT - Top Story)

USAElectionPolls.com has an audience of about 67,000 visitors per month according to the latest statistics by Quantcast -- making it the most visited polling website with the exception of RealClearPolitics. The web site has been having an online straw poll for three days on voters' preference for the 2008 election; both Democrats and Republicans are listed.

Ron Paul is leading the group of almost 20 candidates with 51%. Even more impressive is that he currently has 1744 votes while the second place candidate Dennis Kucinich has 613 votes -- 18%. Ron Paul leads the next closest Republican competitor in the online poll 51% to 3%.

Ordinarily, very little can be made of such results. They could be flukes. The web site's target audience could be Ron Paul, etc. But USAElectionPolls.com gets an immense amount of traffic all across the United States and it is a non-partisan website that talks about all of the candidates.

The poll is still open and can be found on the front page.

More objective than the MSM driven polls conducted on landline phones to senior citizens.

Proof?

Paul and Kucinich. If I had to guess, I’d say that every faction is doing its best to make the worst candidate of the opposition look artificially nice. But I won’t.

Stop playing the guilt-by-association game.

I'm not. Your response was "No, we don't!".

That was a all-inclusive disclaimer. I've pointed out that it can't be so, because there are Truthers who support Ron Paul, and I named one. You were wrong (knowingly) in your response. That doesn't imply that all, most, many, a goodly number, are Truthers. It merely corrects your error.

Now you're accusing me of guild-by-association. Well, I'm not the one supporting a candidate also supported by some Truthers. If you don't like any semblance of association, it's you who have to correct the potential image.

I take that as an admission that you have none.

Didn’t we have a thread on that Achmed guy? Isn’t he actually from India? So he wouldn’t have any bragging rights anyway.

"This poll proves the point that is so forcefully made here."

Please tell us you have more sense than to think this poll is scientific, or meaningful!

Ron Paul obviously got a bunch of his followers to load-up this poll -
Was there a link to it on "Nutjob.com?"

Have the same sample of people register their cell phone numbers or email addresses and have a reputable polling firm ask them who would they support for President. Guarantee you Paul would be right up in the top three.

Wait! Yesterday, you said that he would win such a poll "hands down". You're not losing your faith in St. Paul, are you?

Let's see, one who desires an abrupt end to U.S. troops being needlessly killed and wounded is one who doesn't support them?

It really does get weirder.

Actually, SJackson posted an earlier copy of the same poll when Kucinich was holding the lead by a small margin. SJackson wanted everyone to believe Kucinich actually had more support than Ron Paul. Then, apparently, the Paulian Horde noticed it.

You know, early on, our various blogs and such would mention these online polls. Now, no mention is made. But our chat groups and such apparently are blasting through them all on their own.

You do know that we are well over 30,000 registered activists now and approaching 40,000? So this is actually a middling result, not a true measure of what we could do if we really cared about FReeping spamming online polls.

IOW, this is what we can do without even trying.

And despite the millions spent, none of the other candidates can summon a fraction of this kind of grassroots commitment consistently. That's not a sign there's something wrong with Ron Paul. It's a sign there's something wrong with where the other GOP candidates stand on the issues.

And I'm looking for his support for the troops and their mission. I'll hold my breath.

Maybe you'd enjoy seeing some of our combat vets in Iraq who are supporting Dr. Paul. I assume you don't have a problem with our troops speaking for themselves.
YouTube: Combat Veterans Support Ron Paul
This video from Sgt. Kyle Sanders, a medevac chief in Iraq, is only the first of our campaign videos from our military. We expect to have a lot of them from liberty-loving vets and active-duty troops telling us who they support for president: Ron Paul.

And yet he can’t get real people who are old enough to vote and registered Republicans to vote for him in the primaries.

Tell it Ms Cleo! Blackbird.

Obviously, you know nothing about it.

That tactic stopped working years ago. And it was FreeRepublic who was infamous for the tactic, not the DUmmies who aren't very technically adept.

Currently, at a minimum, you have to clear cookies and use an anonymizing proxy server. On a few, you have to have captcha software to read the images and insert proper values. Then you have to script it all together and keep it current as they change the HTML on the pages.

Not really worth our time frankly. We can win these goofy online polls without resorting to automation.

Anybody who can step back and take a serious look at Republican voters can tell you that Ron Paul has a snowballs chance in hell to make it through as a winner in a Republican primary.

BTW this poll is a waste of time.
