There's not much evidence he's going to do the right thing.

He wants to impose further restrictions on law-abiding gun-owners. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up asking the Legislature and Corzine to give him a District of Columbia-style "ban" on firearms within the city limits.

If he really wanted to clean up Newark what he'd asked to have banned within the city limits is welfare and public housing, and ask to have the death penalty restored to active duty. That's not going to happen.
