Netanyahu: Israel's arch-hawk aiming for comeback
Breitbart via Drudge report ^ | August 14, 2007 | AFP

Former premier Benjamin Netanyahu, who is set to be re-elected as head of Israel's right-wing Likud party on Tuesday, is a media-savvy arch-hawk determined to move back to the political centre stage.

Netanyahu was expected to sweep to victory during a Likud primary with at least 70 percent of the vote, according to internal opinion polls, in a contest against two other candidates.

-snip-

Bibi, as Netanyahu is widely known in Israel, is hoping to ride a wave of dissapointment with the ruling Kadima party over scandals and last year's Lebanon war back to the top of the Israeli political spectrum.

The right-wing party had the wind knocked out of it after former prime minister Ariel Sharon decided in November 2005 to quit and form the centrist Kadima, today headed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

With Netanyahu at the helm, Likud that had dominated Israeli politics since its first election victory in 1977 managed to scrape together only 12 seats in the 120-member parliament.

The defeat marked a devastating turn of fortunes for the politician who 11 years before became Israel's youngest prime minister.

Over the past year, however, Netanyahu's luck has changed -- opinion ratings of him and his party have risen as those of Kadima and Olmert have slid in the wake of the inconclusive Lebanon war and a string of scandals involving senior government figures.

Today Netanyahu is the public's first choice to be Israel's next prime minister -- 36 percent favoured him in a recent opinion poll, compared with eight percent for Olmert and 22 percent for former premier Ehud Barak.

No to mention; it (giving land) encourages, (as is pretty obvious with common-sense) Terrorist! Islamic militants only see Israel giving land (even gaza) a retreat on Israelis’ behalf, and victory for their tactics..You all really need someone strong that gets it (that the survival of the Nation of Israel is at stake!). I am a Christian, but I will be praying for you all; and Bibi! Go Lakud!

Bibi should stay with the Finance Ministry where he excelled.

Moshe Feiglin or Avigdor Lieberman are right of Bibi.

I kind of like the original land for peace deal,
every time you attack us, we take more of your land,
hell by this time Israel should have been as big as Jordan and Syria.

Avi Lieberman is not all that good. He wants Israel to join the Evil Union. He has learned nothing from the fall of Israel to Roman rule.

There are far too few educated and sophisticated nationalists leaders in Israel.

Who Asked Bibi to Run?
by: Shmuel Sackett

...I would like to know one thing; Who asked Bibi to run?

It certainly wasn’t the brave Jews of Hebron whose lives have been made extremely difficult ever since Prime Minister Netanyahu gave away 90% of their city to the enemy.

It wasn’t Jonathan Pollard who Bibi turned his back on and is now entering his 21st year of incarceration.

It wasn’t Shalhevet Pass who was brutally murdered after Bibi handed the Abu Snenah hilltops to the “Palestinians” who then returned the favor by shooting at little babies.

It wasn’t the Jews of Yitzhar who saw several families violently thrown out of their homes by Bibi and his defense minister, Yitzchak Mordechai. These homes were then smashed into thousands of pieces; a precedent for doing the same in Gush Katif.

It wasn’t the staff of Arutz-7 who supported Bibi only to be slapped in the face by his lack of appreciation and desire to impress the leftist media. As Prime Minister, Bibi did not appear EVEN ONE TIME on Arutz-7 and then poured salt on their wounds by beginning the process to declare Arutz-7 illegal, arrest and indict their leaders and ultimately shut them down.

If it wasn’t any of these, then who was it?

Maybe it was the thousands of Arab prisoners that Bibi let out of jail free. Over 40% of these animals have returned to their life of crime and have been involved in terrorist activities against the Jewish state.

Maybe it was the Labor Party who easily defeated the Netanyahu-led Likud party in 1999. Ehud Barak, the only man in history who would probably lose to Shimon Peres, led his party to victory over Bibi who in less than three years managed to frustrate the entire nation.

Maybe it was Israel’s Attorney General who investigated Bibi for fraud. Those were high level investigations which gave the Attorney General a lot of media coverage and made him quite famous around the world.

Maybe it was Abu Mazen who saw Bibi give Arafat enormous amounts of weapons and make huge concessions. On October 9, 2000 Time Magazine wrote an article saying that while Bibi was tough with Arafat, “at least deals were done”. Abu Mazen is dying for some of those deals.

In short, nobody I know and respect has asked Bibi to run. He was a total failure as Prime Minister. The entire Right-Wing and Religious camp voted for him in 1996 and were all let down. People, such as myself and Moshe Feiglin, went to jail fighting against the Rabin-Peres government, only to receive Bibi who did the exact same thing!

Make no mistake about it… Bibi Netanyahu has not done “teshuva”. He is the same self centered person he always was. He lacks basic Jewish values, has sworn his allegiance to the Road Map and will puff away on his fancy Cuban cigars while Jewish life is in danger...

Has Bibi apologized for his mistakes?
No. He continues them. If a member of Labour had done this, we would scream.

Just say no to Bibi-bots.

“There are far too few educated and sophisticated nationalists leaders in Israel.”

Tragically true. The Begin generation has passed.
