We need to see "hispanic" backed out of the numbers to see what "traditional Americans" are up to.

The way this is being done a "black hispanic" is reported as just "black", so the burden of being a criminal (or a victim) falls on the traditional "black" census category.

The result is to make the black man look much worse than the reality supports.

I think that's a complaint you will hear every now and then, and it's a serious one. I really don't understand why Gonzales wants to continue to pile calumny on black men by keeping the real numbers secret.

Look at prison statistics sometime. Blacks are imprisoned at a higher rate than any other group, including Hispanics. Here in NJ, they are well over 50% of those in prison, although they are only 14% of the population statewide.

You must be from California. I always find Calipornians to be the most in denial about the crime rates around native born black Americans.

Look at the cities with the highest crime rates in the country (Camden, Detroit, East St. Louis) and show me the "hispanic crime wave" that is in those cities. (Crickets chirping).

California breaks out Hispanic from non-Hispanic in their homicide arrest stats:

In 2005, of 1,956 arrests for homicide:

19.7 percent (386) of arrestees were white.

48.4 percent (946) of arrestees were Hispanic. (35.9% of population)

24.9 percent (487) of arrestees were black. (6.7 % of population are black)

7.0 percent (137) of arrestees fell into the “other” race/ethnic group category.

In FBI stats, the Hispanics would be grouped with whites if they were offenders (there is no FBI crime statistic category for Hispanic offender). Hispanics are arrested for homicide at a rate somewhat higher than their % of population, while blacks are arrested at a rate almost 4x higher than their population

And these numbers are skewed a bit because they only cover those arrested. Gang members doing planned hits are less likely to get caught than somebody who kills his wife in the heat of anger

Justifiable Homicide in California scroll down to table 50. Justifiably killed perps by private citizens are 51.9% black, 25.9% Hispanic, 18.5% white, with most of those killed being killed in a residence or commercial establishment (ie, robberies where victim kills robber, most likely)
