Ron Paul Repeats Commitment to Overturning Roe v. Wade Abortion Ruling

by Steven Ertelt LifeNews.com Editor August 8, 2007 Lawton, IA (LifeNews.com) -- Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul restated his commitment on Tuesday to overturning the landmark abortion decision that allowed virtually unlimited abortions. He said he would work to overturn the Supreme Court ruling if he is nominated as the Republican candidate for president and elected to the White House.

Paul said he was pro-life and would make reversing the decision a top priority.

He also said that more people should be exposed to what abortion does to an unborn child and women who have them.

“The country should see what is happening and when they see the violence of abortion and what it really means, maybe they too would change their attitude about abortion,” said Paul.

Paul, a Texas congressman, also said he would make sure that taxpayer funds are not used to pay for abortions and explained that his training as a gynecologist taught him that human life is valuable.

"Life is sacred. The most obscene thing government could do is to ... use your money to commit abortion," he said to loud applause.

Also, you seem to hate actual conservatives. Are you an old line Stalinist communist or a new-fashioned Al Qaeda lover like paleoPaulie and the other Paulistinians??? Puhleeze!

You seem to have a great deal of admiration for the Trotskyites. Now I know why you are so filled with hate for a great American like Ron Paul.

Imprisoning the bastards who have sliced, diced and hamburgerized the babies would go a long way toward solving the abprtion problem---

That would be women who were recently pregnant and who sought or performed self-abortion. I'm not sure this would pass the legislative bodies.

“Name Calling. That’s all your good for.” You probably meant to write: “Name Calling. That’s all you’re good for.”

Or they are weak and bending to the will of a boyfriend/husband/parent (who is evil).

Yeah, that happens too. But it's amusing that the feminist establishment will still consider that situation "empowering" to the woman or women in general. People are sick and evil.

It's not exactly your dad's Libertarian party any more.

Let's hope that that sort of saying does more for libertarianism and the Libertarian Party than a similar one did for Oldsmobile.

I did answer the question. You didn't read it. Here it goes again: Not a politician, not a given individual. Only women can stop abortion.

That's been my stance for years.

Maybe you can point out where in the Constitution it gives the FedGov this power?

Maybe you can point out where I said anything about the federal Govt.

Hint: Your writing to the wrong poster.

These stooges will get the government they deserve. They have no problem with the weight of their chains as long as their annointed ones are master. Problem is, it won’t always be that way.

Too bad we have to go along for the ride as well.

however his view on the war on terror makes him UNFIT to be Commander in Chief ..

Ron Paul wanted to declare war. He alone submitted the Legislation to do so.
And of course was called crazy for such a thought! (heaven forbid we defend ourselves and attack everyone who helped pull off 9-11)
IF we had done that on 9-12, Syria, Iran and Pakistan would not be providing safe havens today.
I was stupid. I trusted Bushes Oct 2001 speech and believed it.
Listening to simple sound bites is what allowed us to turn a highly successful strategy into another vietnam.
I am following the current strategy, define what we will call "Victory".
Without a clearly definable goal, this is a trip to nowhere.

"Why don't you just bite me, newbie?"

Don't let them bait you, don't make it personal, stay cheerful, have fun, throw a bit less mud than you get thrown at you, just concentrate on playing your position on the defensive line and never giving an inch. Good advice, eh? :-)

Couldn't resist.

Their published personal views were pro-life. Even Ron Paul toned it down when he ran in 88.

My personal experience is that Pro-life vs Pro-murder in the Libertarian party is about 50-50...just like the rest of the nation.

You noticed that I was practicing what I preached? Good.

Newbie retreads who are trolling (probably WAnker retreads to boot) aren't going to get much courtesy. Especially when they're exceptionally stupid personally. You ought to look through some of these knuckle-dragging posts we get on these threads. I didn't think even the public schools could leave people so ignorant. And innumerate.

And my advice is still great advice. However, you guys have been so trashed I think you lost most of your supporters. Sad, really. Mitt is no leftwing mayor even if his positions require some research and a bit of parsing.

In your dreams...

Not exactly. Mitt isn't competing for the same votes as RP so I have no ox to gore here over Mitt.

I just thought your early threads did so well and then the Mitt-trolls and Mormon-bashers were so thoroughly unpleasant that people just didn't want to post any more.

It's gotten to the point that supporting any candidate is just asking for abuse here at FR.

I'm no fan of global hotting but we could use a little climate change here at FR, toward a more moderate and pleasant clime.

In 2000, we had plenty of bash threads but we had a lot of threads with the positives and where supporters could get their points across well. And JimRob was still really doing all the modding himself. FR just had a whole different feel then, still very aggressive but with more tolerance toward conflicting views or candidates.

Want to see something kind of cool for campaigning? We collected photos of RP supporters and they've been made into a full-page color ad for tomorrow morning's Ames paper. Grassroots-designed and paid, no input or funding from the campaign at all. I'd just post it here but the image is 500KB.

Final Copy of Ad to Appear in Saturday Ames Tribune - Daily Paul

I thought it was nice for a grassroots ad. You rarely see such organization and determination in any campaign.

They caught Iranian agents and personnel of the Iranian revolutionary guard today.
Why don't we declare War on Iran?
The current PC strategy is just getting our guys killed.
Declare war, fight it to win, or come home.
No one can define "Victory" at this point.

I did answer the question

On the contrary, rudder-troll. You dodged it.

Maybe reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits.

I asked you for the name of a candidate stronger on abortion than Mr. Paul. You evaded that question with a meaningless side babble about changing attitudes.

Answer the question or stop injecting yourself into the discussion with idiotic mumbling.

You're right about that. They will twist any situation to try to make it promote their agenda.

People are sick and evil.

Yep.
