In your dreams...

Not exactly. Mitt isn't competing for the same votes as RP so I have no ox to gore here over Mitt.

I just thought your early threads did so well and then the Mitt-trolls and Mormon-bashers were so thoroughly unpleasant that people just didn't want to post any more.

It's gotten to the point that supporting any candidate is just asking for abuse here at FR.

I'm no fan of global hotting but we could use a little climate change here at FR, toward a more moderate and pleasant clime.

In 2000, we had plenty of bash threads but we had a lot of threads with the positives and where supporters could get their points across well. And JimRob was still really doing all the modding himself. FR just had a whole different feel then, still very aggressive but with more tolerance toward conflicting views or candidates.

Want to see something kind of cool for campaigning? We collected photos of RP supporters and they've been made into a full-page color ad for tomorrow morning's Ames paper. Grassroots-designed and paid, no input or funding from the campaign at all. I'd just post it here but the image is 500KB.

Final Copy of Ad to Appear in Saturday Ames Tribune - Daily Paul

I thought it was nice for a grassroots ad. You rarely see such organization and determination in any campaign.

Well, I can't disagree with you. It has gotten exceedingly less pleasant around here. It is not as enjoyable as it used to be.

On a happier note, I must say, that is a very cool ad! I like many of Ron Paul positions, except his foreign policy ones, which are a non-starter for me.
