What is the reasoning behind this? These people were not part of the government. WBC can "argue" that God caused the bridge to collapse to punish the US. But how does that make the people who died "at fault", so their funerals need to be protested?

For soldiers, it is that they are fighting for the US government and therefore somehow part of the "approval" of homosexuality by the US government. God caused 9/11 because the government approves of homosexuality. (I can only spend so much time on their website before I start throwing things at my monitor).
