My two cents. O'Reilly tries to play the center and fails. He should have mentioned the D.U.mmies along with the Kos kids if he wanted to talk about hate sites.

My personal fear is that I won't be able to post my photos of John Edwards anymore because I might be factored.

I love all this BUbba. Whether Free republic stays viable or not, is not up to mavins like O Reilly. All he has done is given Free Republic lots of advertizing.

I love it. Anyone who has been here for very long on Free Republic knows that the discussions and news is generally very accurate for those who seek such venues. Its a big community, and some people are so distraught that they have to vent, and let them I say.

Better than throwing a Republican TV set out the window into the street because of the MSM crap on it.

The MSM fears Free Republic. Just like it fears Rush Limbaugh.

And conservatives ARE gaining, with the truth, which is what this attack by Oreilly is all about. We are a thorn in their side, because the cannot manipulate 100% of the public 100% of the time....they want rid of us.

O'Reilly should apply the same standards to the Daily KOS, and other pink web blogs, where he will find remarks about killing our president, or movies about the assasination of our president,and other hate remarks. Some pink sites are nothing BUT hateful anti-conservative commentary. Do the due Bill, and look at the liberal socialist wild side. Free Repuiblic is TAME by comparison.

Thanks for the free advertising Bill. Watch Free Republic Grow as a result, but we will need a more active Kitty Zot patrol as well.

I saw that. That is the title of an article not an opinion expressed by a poster. It could have been that article.

Note that in the links provided to Kristinn, "The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced."

Maybe the reason the link was not provided is that if O'Reilly used this thread that way he would look ridiculous if it was discovered.

Exactly, everything BOR said was taken out of context. He’s a real disappointment. He could redeem himself if he explained each misinterpretation on his show. In the mean time, he has lost alot of credibility.

Since Tuesday’s night showing of the “O’Reilly Factor” and the disgraceful presentation of Mr. O’Reilly taking on Mr. Kristinn of FR, I have stopped watching that show. I will no longer watch it. Mr. O’Reilly has changed for the worse, IMHO. He lost an important friend among conservitives, FR.

Two of the cornerstones of Conservatism are fairness and truthfulness. BO proved that he fails miserably at both.

I hate to say it, but I was listening to Sheppard Smith news hour a few days ago, and I actually laughed at the way he was reporting the news. He is a joke. The news is unwatchable. What can you say in a week where two News Helicopters collide killing all on board ..while chasing a car?

have you seen any reporter when an army helicopter in a war zone goes down telecast the incident with such passion, pathos and concern?

There's nothing wrong with most of what has been said on this thread. When Bill O'Reilly takes things out of context in order to orchestrate an attack on Free Republic, he is showing a real lack of integrity. You may like what he's done on some issues, but what he did this time was dishonest. That dishonest stains the good that he's done at other times, and he deserves the criticism that he receives for being dishonest.

Personally, I don't think that Bill O'Reilly has the courage to face people in a forum where he isn't in control. On his show, he gets to control what is said and when it is said. In an open forum like this one, he couldn't shout people down or have their microphone cut off. I admire FReepers who are arguing issues on Free Republic on an even footing with other Freepers much more than I admire some guy who has his own show where he can always control the discussion.
