Its difficult to overstate the importance of this story. The Chronicle of Higher Education (sub. required) on Wednesday published an article about Khalid bin Mafouz, a wealthy Saudi banker, and his successful effort to persuade the Cambridge University Press to halt the publication of four books that detail how Saudi citizens use their wealth to finance global terrorism. One of those books, Alms for Jihad, was once on sale at Amazon and elsewhere, but it has been pulled from sale and copies of it are now being pulped. Cambridge has even sent out letters to libraries that stock it and the other three books, asking for their return so that they too can be pulped, meaning they will soon disappear, burying the details they contain on how terrorism finance works and who is behind it.
Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld of the American Center for Democracy is one of the authors whose books have been subject to judicial attack by Khalid bin Mafouz. I interviewed her about the case of the censorious jihad financier, and Cambridge Press cowardly capitulation to him. She is the author of Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It. She is the only author to date who is fighting back.
Arms aid for the Saudis is just beyond stupid.
Folks, every day we give the Middle Eastern oil suppliers an additional $700 million dollars per day when the price of oil goes up by $10. We are financing them because we won’t drill for oil offshore and in the Arctic.
It is unavailable from Amazon or Cambridge Press, but I was able to locate it on Alibris. They had 10 copies priced at $94 bucks! Located in the United Kingdom.
I just searched the website of my local public library and they have a copy and it's on the shelf.I'm gonna take it out and scan it.
It’s still on sale at Amazon.com.
So what gives with this report???

It’s not on sale at Amazon-Great Britain.
That’s the subject of the article.
This book tells about the same thing. How a mosque came to be constructed in Grandview, MO, south of Kansas City is detailed on page 78.
“THese wouldnt be the same Saudis that our president is dealing with now in such a favorable way, would they?”
There was a picture last year of Bush holding hands with one pf the Saudi princes, walking along swinging their arms together like two schoolgirls.
I think Bush is blind in one eye.
Giving muslims access to western courts is as suicidal as letting communists organize in our government. All of them will use any power they get to take away other peoples freedom and advance their ideology/religion.
Whereas christians and secularists the two ideologies of the modern west.. both believe in justice and the importance of free will and freedom.
Alms for Jihad: Charity and Terrorism in the Islamic World (Hardcover)
Availability: Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.
It’s also not available on Amazon in the US
Oh sorry, yes, it’s Amazon.CA - it’s still available up here.
This pandering to the muslims is disgusting. No wonder England is already lost.
Lord knows they cannot do anything for themselves. ;)
Here is another very disturbing article on this from the NY Sun. IMHO, this is very, bad, folks:

“Libel Suit Leads to Destruction of Books”
By GARY SHAPIRO
Staff Reporter of the Sun
August 2, 2007
Small excerpt:
[A professor at Emory University, who won a libel suit in Britain brought against her and Penguin, Deborah Lipstadt, likewise told The New York Sun that this action by Cambridge University Press was a “frightening development.” She said that it seemed to her that the Saudis were “systematically, case by case, book by book” challenging anything critical of them or anything that linked them to terrorism. She said that she could not think of any publisher that would now accept a manuscript critical of the Saudis. “This affects not only authors but readers,” she said, adding that “ideas are being chased out of the marketplace.”]

I ordered and paid for an electronic copy Monday early afternoon from BooksOnBoard.com
By late afternoon, I had been notified that it had been removed from the site that morning and I got notice of a VISA refund this (Tuesday) morning.
I was so angry that the idea of borrowing someone's copy, scanning it and distributing it in the most common formats on the web for free had occured to me...
Let Prince Sh**forbrains deal with that!
Good luck with your efforts.
This is what I printed Monday Morning when I thought I had purchased an electronic copy of it with the necessary reader:

Reply to request for help:
Hi,
Thank you for your purchase of Alms for Jihad. Unfortunately, the litigation apparently caught up with ebooks mid-afternoon today and was pulled from the download server by the publisher. I apologize for your inconvenience.
We will process a refund in full for this purchase.
And that was that.
The irony is, that if Prince Nummnads had not done his thing, I would not have ever heard of this book. Now I will do everything in my power both to get a copy and to give further copies away.
