MILWAUKEE —
“Federal investigators announced Tuesday a 29-count indictment accusing Milwaukee-area residents of making counterfeit money.
The indictment states that more than $92,000 in phony money was passed by a 15-person ring since September of last year. It alleges genuine $1 and $5 bills were bleached and altered, printed as $50 and $100 denominations.
A two-week sweep by the Secret Service and the Milwaukee Police Department netted 14 people. A fifteenth person remains at large.”
