Every media report I've heard since this broke has mentioned a heat wave. Take it up with them. I'm in Penna.
THere it is. THe bridge was found to be collapsing last year. I'll bet they had a meeting or 2 about that.
And if they found all the defects, it was not a contributing factor. But not if they did not.
The Fox construction expert pointed out that the steel had been painted green, which apparently meant that it had been painted some time ago and not repainted since.
He said he didn’t like bridges to be painted because that can cover up cracks.
They're exaggerating. I figured you were somewhere else. It's a couple hours up the river from me. 90's in Aug is expected. That kind of temp doesn't effect bridges though. Unless they're built badly by not allowing for expansion/contraction from say -60 to +120.

Obviously the engineers in control did not have a handle on this matter. The bridge collapsed under their analysis and direction for repair work, while people were on it. I have no faith in their ability.
