I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.
Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.
We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.
In case you didn’t see Kristinn Taylor interviewed on O’Reilly, the video is now up on the Fox News site.
Here’s the link and then just look for Kristinn Taylor's photo, then click on that.

Update 2: The link to the Fox News site which is hosting the O'Reilly video works best with Internet Explorer.

The admin mods are unpaid volunteers. They cannot be everywhere all the time. We should ALL be monitoring. If we read something racist, hateful or anything which could diminish this wonderful forum, we should hit the abuse button. I feel it is up to each individual to help protect our Free Republic site. I really hate to see us sink to the level of The Daily Kos or DU.
JMHO
Against all odds, you did a great job this evening. Thanks.
I forgot it was going to be on, but caught less than a minute of it, where O’Reilly admitted that probably , as you claimed, a lot of the “hate” was planted by provocateurs and trolls, but then I saw him hold up a sheet of paper, and say, “but this, this stuff on there today....there’s not excuse...” what was he referring to?
I USED to watch O’Reilly on a regular basis. NO MORE. I know this is not a racist site.
If O’Reilly can not get that right, then what else has he told me that was false.
O’Reilly’s reporting can no longer be trusted.

True Dat,,,He spouts so much BS that I have not watched much of him for a few months now,,,
Do you know anything about Glenn Beck?
This would have to be behind the scenes, since if Michelle publicly disputed Bill, she'd not be a substitute host for long!
doesn’t access to free speech on his website come at the price of a membership?
Kristinn,
Thank you for being the very rational face of FreeRepublic on Bill’s show.
If the research O’Reilly and his staff did on FreeRepublic is any indication of the poor research his staff does on a regular basis on other topics, he is the worst violator of the No-Spin Zone on record.
You did a great job given the absolute garbage you were handed. The “I hate blacks” and “homosexuals are dogs” are phrases from the titles of original source documents, not posted comments by Freepers. And O’Reilly and his staff did not read the home page where the standards for posting are listed. He also didn’t know that posters who are registered here have a “Report Abuse” tag under each comment to report “vile” comments.
You tried to say these things, but Bill was too busy trying to lecture you on how to “fix” something that does not need “fixing”.
FreeRepublic is the best policed site on the web—because it is done by those care—both moderators and posters—who want to maintain the quality of this site.
FreeRepublic was slandered tonight. Jim Robinson needs to ask for time to rebut Bill’s sloppy research and broad-brush smear of this website. Maybe a video link-up could be done with Jim and with you and with Bill. FR would ask for this because we don’t want our name besmirched, and lies and falsehoods should not go unchallenged. Unless the left wing sites that truly are the definition of “hate sites”.
The record needs correcting.
Bill O’Reilly showed himself to be a bloviating blowhard tonight, who does not vet his research, but he feels qualified to tell us what we should do and what we “owe he country”.
What hogwash.
Anyway, you did a wonderful job and we are fortunate to have such a well spoken and well behaved spokesperson to represent us.
Thank you for doing this interview—I don’t think I could have done it in as classy a manner as you did.
It’s really hard to get a word in edge-wise on shows like that. Almost seems like a waste of time. Glad you did it anyway.
Isnt that GoldStateGOP with the blue footer?Ping to the notorious BLUE POSTER, now imortalized in a screen capture from this Bill O'Reilly hit piece!
See posts 539, 559 and 136.You're FAMOUS! (sort of.)

michelle stands up to him
Exactly, he seems to be innocent.
Who knew talking about Virginia taxes was hate speech?
"Cut spending. The problem is the Democrats and the RINOs want to jack up taxes and spend, spend and spend."
(The post is spot-on as well).
O'Reilly is a liar, and needs to be called on it.
This is the first time I’ve looked at this site. Thank O’Reilly for that. My thoughts about the O’Reilly report is that he used Free Republic as a way for him to be “fair and balanced” when he went after DailyKOS. When he started flapping pieces of paper around saying this was off FR (with no video showing the posts), it confirmed my suspicion. FR was the sacrifical lamb, sort of speak.
His comment that a “professional” should be hired to monitor the postings is ridiculous. Other forums I participate in used volunteers and/or forum owners to police the forums. Only business sites have the money to hire professionals.
Oh, BTW, I’m black and a freeper so that must mean I’m of the self-hating, sell out variety. Also, I’m straight but some of my best friends are gay :)
Hey! What about 566?
