True, but in case of the Mongols, I think their destructive impact on Eastern Europe went well beyond their 200 year rule.
The Mongols were only the last, depending on how you classify the Ottomans, and most successful of the great steppe nomad invasions of richer lands. There had been many before, although few made it all the way to Central Europe. One major exception being the Magyars.
The Crimean Tatars conducted massive slave raids into Russia, Poland and Ukraine as late as the mid-1700s.
