UK Citizens Abandoning the UK in Greater Numbers
July 25, 2007 - Press Dispensary - Increasing numbers of people are taking the decision to move overseas as a result of the UKs current immigration policy, according to www.globalvisas.com, a specialist immigration consultancy that provides immigration advice and visa services.
As numbers of immigrants to the UK from the new European Union Accession states continue to grow, more and more people in the UK are choosing to take their experience and skills overseas.
The consultancy caters for immigrants to the UK as well as British people who wish to emigrate to the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or South Africa. After more than 12 years in its field, the company has recorded an increase in the number of non-EU and low skilled EU A8 citizens coming to the UK over recent years, and is now seeing a dramatic increase in British people applying to leave the UK.
Director Liam Clifford says: "Since January 2007, we have recorded an 80% rise in British nationals applying to move overseas. As this rise continues, so does the number of enquiries we receive from people asking for help in migrating to a new country. In recent months, we have received as many as 4,000 requests in a single week from people who have had enough of Britain and want to get out."
He adds: "Ironically, the main reason for these people leaving the UK is the over-stretching of services caused by inbound immigration to the UK. We are aware of the issue of so-called white flight from certain inner city areas to the suburbs but now people are increasingly seeking a better standard of living offered by other countries.
"This phenomenon adds to the existing shortage of skilled workers already faced by the UK as they leave only to be replaced by low skilled EU A8 workers or low skilled refugees."
This happens in L.A. too.
BUMP!
“not only is it immigration,
but its allowing immigrants the upper hand.
melanie phillips in her book londonstan
describes how british laws allow immigrants to verbally attack
britains but if they respond they are guilty of hate speech.”
Sounds like the illegals in America.
BLOODY ‘ELL!!!,wots all that rubbish supposed to mean????.I’ll tell you what lad,I lived in Preston up to 1984 then thankfully G.T.H.O.I visited in ‘97 and found to my horror the decay and takeover of the once proud cotton town to crowds of muzzies.Late buses don’t stop in certain areas due to attacks on drivers, race riots in the streets of avenham, friggin mosques everywhere, and of course when we used to go “paki-bashin’” in the seventies to keep the vermin in check, now there’s “whitie-bashin’”.Alas,England is a lost cause and is in the express lane to the third world........
Quite. Nasty things happen - which the 3.4 million U.S. citizens out of the 30 million overseas tourists who visit the U.K. annually seem for the most part happily to avoid, along with the rest of us who live here all the time. If they did not, be sure the U.S. media would immediately be full of it and the tourist industry would immediately dry up, as it did temporarily after the alarms of IRA bombs, foot and mouth disease and 7/7, only to recover rapidly thereafter on each occasion. Inductive reasoning from the particular to the general is always risky.
“The UK has never been flooded with immigrants. I visited Florida a few years back and didnt meet a non-hispanic for two weeks.”
The hispanics aren’t trying to lop anyone’s head off.
I’m truly sorry that you found your brief return visit so depressing, and that you are content to generalise from that unhappy experience of one town to Britain as a whole. Yet I hope that those round here who think as you do would sometimes give a little credence to the witness, based on accumulated experience, of those of us who live here all the time, who are neither ostriches nor masochists, yet who take an altogether more sanguine view of the current state and future prospects of this country.
The article in question suggests that UK citizens are leaving the UK because of immigration-not because we have a small number of Muslims in our population. Most immigrants to the UK are not Muslim. A great many at present are from Eastern Europe.
In light of this, let me ask you this: Very many immigrants come to the US (more so than to the UK). Do you want to leave your country because of this?
I honestly believe that most emigrating away from the UK are seeking somewhere sunny to retire to, or are simply hoping for a better standard of living/housing abroad.
Cheers for the back-up. I am often astounded at all the claims on this board that ‘Britain is doomed’ etc. It really is nonsense.
How people can claim that we’re ‘flooded’ with immigrants is ridiculous. We’re a country that is 92.5% white for heaven’s sake.
Something is desperately rotten in the British Isles.
Britain isn’t doomed, it’s just plain gone. What is in it’s place is the globalist dream of region(not nations) that can be milked for it’s wealth to promote globalization. British wealth and Britains domestic economy is being used to open markets for transnational corporations in the third world so they can enter those markets without risking any of their own capital.
Britain is a neomort, and the transnationals are harvesting it’s organs, just like they are doing to the US and the US domestic economy.
Well, if America is around 70% white, then why are all the maids and hoteliers in the US hispanic?
For as long as I can remember, medicine has attracted doctors from ethnic backgrounds in the UK. Many Indian families, for example, see it as a honourable profession. It is not dominated by Muslims as you state.
With regards to the Muslim terror attacks and attempted terror attacks on the UK: The UK was hit harder by the IRA for decades. Was something desparately rotten in the UK then? Would you tar the entire UK Irish community with the same brush as the terrorists?
Ethnic groups are often found in the same line of work. Convenience stores in most areas of the western world that I have visited have been run by Indians.
Britain has been one of the few countires in the West to stand with the US properly in the WoT (despite having had two centre-left politicians recently).
Having lived in the UK all my life, I can guarantee to you that Britain is fine.
Crikey, you paint a cheerful picture mate! :-)
Well, we’ll just have to disagree then mate. I don’t go in for socialist conspiracies.
Well I can assure you, as a UK citizen, that I’m not.
But these forums are here for good debate :-)
If Americans aren’t willing to fight for their jobs or their country then they don’t deserve to keep them.
The UK is not a socialist nation in any way, shape or form. The only remotely socialised thing we have is the NHS and that has suited people fine.
UK surveillance culture increased only in response to IRA terrorism. It was a practical measure.
You call Blair a socialist. Margaret Thatcher has said that New Labour (the shift of Labour towards the centre) is the proudest result of her legacy in British politics. Blair has been a stalwart world leader in the fight against international terrorism.
