Dumbass is a Sunni. ...and he's a Sunni buying life insurance with his mouth.

Same here, It was bad sport for some idiotic reporter to even ask the question. If he answers in support of the US it would defiantly mark him for an attack. The man just gave a huge boost to national Iraqi pride. The stinking media just had to try to bring politics into a good news story.

"I wish the American people didn't invade Iraq and hopefully it will be over soon."
Fine, dude, we'll hand you right back to Uday.... oops, too late for that option, Uday's remains have been moldering for 4 years now....... guess we'll just hand your fate over to the Shi'a majority and see how you fare without the eviiillll USA trying to restore some semblance of order to your deranged and depraved country.

Of course, Uday was happy with them in victory..... it was only defeat they had to worry about. But would they ever have gotten to this point under the old regime?

"I want America to go out," Maybe he was talking about soccer.

Fine with me. Bring our troops home. Close the borders. Have our troops defend our homeland. Screw Iraq. And put a dictator as bad as Saddam was in charge. We need to leave the place the same way we found it. Neatness counts.

Ah, big words from an Iraqi who never intended to step foot back in Iraq anyway. He must have used his wealth to get his family out too. Otherwise he would not be so brazen in wishing we were gone.

The Iraqi captain who like the rest of the team wore a black arm band to remember the dozens killed by carbombersOh, and I'm sure those carbombers will leave just as soon as the American's do, right? It's too bad there is such upheaval in his country, but I think even he would say that it's nice not to have to go home to the Hussein boys.

Who the hell gives a damn about soccer - it’s not even a real sport.
It’s amusement for third world morons and liberal “soccer moms” who want some kind of trophy for their spoiled underachieving brats.

I can't think about the movie,
The Jerk where Steve Martin's character gets a phone number and upon seeing his name in the phone book goes, "Yes, this is the kind of publicity that gets you noticed." Immediately, the scene shifts to a ramshackle room where an obvious lunatic picks his name out of the phone book and sets out to kill him with a sniper rifle.
Problem with Iraq, too many lunatics spoiling to kill anyone who comes to public notice.

Well, the guy is a Sunni, so he might not have had it so bad under Saddam. I’d like to hear what some of the Shiite players had to say.
Regarding the “I want America out” comment — we all want America out. But it’s kind of like having a broken bone in a cast. You want the cast off because it’s itchy and cumbersome but at the same time you know it needs to be there a while longer.
It’s the “I wish America hadn’t invaded” comment that’s more irksome. But then you’re back to his being a Sunni. A responsible press might also have gotten the Shiite perspective.
