I work at a university and I’ve watched student workers deteriorate over the past 25 years. Each year the number of truly intelligent students seems to decrease. MTV, public education, and the nutty left dominate their minds.
Even the ones who seemingly are capable of thinking don’t seem to try. Last year a student worker who seemed quite capable told me that Republicans scare the hell out of him. I asked why, and he said Republicans put dissidents in concentration camps. He added that he’d written an essay denouncing Bush for one of his lefty professors and was convinced that Bush knew about it and had him on some kind of list somewhere.
They absorb all this crap from Michael Moore, Daily Kos, MTV, and their teachers. Most of them want three things in life:
1) To be able to do whatever they damn well please when it comes to sex.
2) To be given everything for “free”.
3) Not to ever have to fight in a war, no matter what.
In addition, they repeat all the nonsense about multiculturalism, diversity, global warming, etc.
Granted, there are still plenty of good kids out there, and I get to see the worst of the worst sometimes. But 25 years ago there was more of a balance. Maybe half the kids who worked in my department had some common sense, understood that nothing in life is free, knew that war was unfortunate but sometimes necessary, and had some values. Today it’s about ten percent.
It's easier to tax the living bejeezus out of the ignorant. I raise my stepson's consciousness (and that of his friends) by occassionally shaking my head at them, and saying: "Man, do I feel sorry for you guys. You're going to be working 8-9 months a year to pay your "servants" in the government..."
The easiest way is to speak the truth.
Its the same in the church- We are going through a purging of people who are “lukewarm” on both sides. That will leave the good and the bad. The people in the middle are getting pushed off the fence.
For those that read and believe scripture, this is foretold.
Our job, is to NOT change the message. Its possible to change the delivery without diliuting the message.
Christ is whats needed. Pure and simple.
Its NOT ok to sacrifice your own children ( abortion or pushing them aside for your own gain)
Its NOT ok to break trust with other countries you commit to helping EVEN if it gets hard.
Its NOT ok to look the other way when bad men do bad things to good people.
Its NOT ok to have homosexual relations. It DOESNT , nor has it EVER in the history of the world improved the human race ( or even propogate it)
Its NOT ok to allow some people to break the law and enforce it on others ( hearing this illegal immigrant supporters?)
Its NOT ok to Leave your marriage if you feel it doesnt “complete” you. This destroys families for generations, which leads to moral decline, pain and suffering which eventually rots away the foundation of your society.
Its NOT ok to give people everything they want. Its very OK to give them what they need.Entitlements are the devil.
Its NOT ok to perpetrate crimes, take bribes, or allow people to do it in your sight.
People can change. All things can be forgiven, but first, people must hit rock bottom. Then, once people are broken of their own will, they can be renewed faster than you can imagine with Gods help.
I firmly believe this country is going through the rock bottom stage right now. There is great hope though. Dont be discouraged. Do the right thing and be patient.
We need a leader who will go on record saying there is a good and an evil, and they need to follow what they say with actions that match the words.
Thats all.
Changing the message is not the answer. TRUMPETING the message with no pussyfooting around, then backing it up is the answer.
I see a LOT of people every day in my business. I notice a LOT of people are choosing sides now. Thats a good thing. The goal is to get as many people to our side as possible without lying about what we are about.
There are more good people than bad. The bad just flap their gums more.
Dont be afraid friends. Be Bold. Its almost time to start taking ground. Jut be patient and keep the faith.
I’m probably a little older than some of the students that go through your campus (I’m 26), but if any of my contemporaries get any sort of political power while at the same time maintaining the kook mindset they still have...
...well, I don’t know what the solution to this would be, with the exception of leaving the country and starting over again somewhere tropical?
Do you see an America defined by those deplorable values dominating in the same manner as the America defined by Washington, Jefferson, Madisom, et al? And what exactly is the prescription for combating it?
There is a silver lining: Those having such values are unlikely to procreate large families with their life-in "partner." They'd rather have pleasure and "stuff." They don't want to contribute to pollution, to global warming, to a decline the salmon population... By contradistinction, those with traditional American (and - dare I say it? - Judeo-Christian) values will and are having more children, with many (not all) raising them in strict but loving homes. The strength of the upbringing is often enough that of the college-bound ones they will return to their roots later in life.
BTW most in these large families, enough of whom I know to have a somewhat representative sample, do not go off to four-year college. The boys often become farmers, mechanics, and other tradesmen and thereby most of them maintain the original values of their parents unmolested by indoctrination from academia.
The girls become moms - feminstists near and far HATE this, but it takes moms to raise children, pregnancy and all.
Perchance this offers at least a little hope.
