Not in Idaho. Lovely people there but it is very “white”.

Ian Johnson, who is black, and Chrissy Popadics, who is white, are due to be married Saturday in Boise. Would that be according to the old "one drop rule"? That rule by the way was intended as a way of keeping the descendants of slaves fathered by whites classified as black and hence slaves themselves. He looked like he had a fairly large proportion of European ancestry. If there are anythings that qualify as races among humans, he would have to be classified as mixed race.

Hey I’m in Texas - we’re usually the ones accused of being so backward and racist.

I know for a fact that black women cannot STAND black men who marry or date white women The pickings seem to be slim.

Idaho is not like Seattle or Portland.

Umm . . . Idaho is not known as the “greenie-progressive utopian northwest.” Not yet, at least.

That’s what I thought too. I’ve met a lot of racists with degrees. A piece of paper isn’t what makes or breaks a character defect.

Not in Idaho. Lovely people there but it is very white. Reminds me of the line from "Blazing Saddles":
"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new west. You know. Morons."

Lots of white supremacist enclaves in Idaho, as well. At least there used to be.
I wish the couple a life of happiness and special blessings.

My husband is participating in the Family Tree DNA project. It is an amazing project tracing roots.

To prove how small the world really is, my brother (who is a student at BSU, pictured
here, to his older brother's right had a class with Chrissy--I think it was business statistics, I can't remember off the top of my head. But from what he told me, pictures don't do her justice.
