I’m still with Fred but I want to say that I do respect everyone here who is supporting Hunter. I got a little angry on another thread at people who seemed to be claiming to be for Fred one day and then against him the next, based on the choice for campaign manager. I am truly skeptical of those people. I doubt they were ever “for Fred” at all, just saying that now to boost their argument.

But anyone who says “I’m sticking with Hunter”, I just want to say to you, Hunter is a good man. I can’t argue with you about your choice.

I’m still with Fred.

I guess my philosophy is this...

Don’t worry about the general election.

During the pre-primary conservatives should push as hard as possible for the most proven conservative candidate based on voting record and/or accomplishments. Who cares if they seem unelectable at the time.

If we truly believe that our ideas are better than it shouldn’t matter who are nominee is as long as they can clearly articulate that vision for America.

Number two, conservatives/republicans are going to vote for the R candidate no matter who he/she is anyway — if it’s Rudy vs. Hillary, I’m voting for Rudy - even though I can’t stand him

So why not push for a hardline conservative in the primaries?

Go Hunter!

I agree entirely with your post. I also like Hunter, but I'm supporting Fred. What I'm tired of are the "OMG, Fred did that? Well, he's not getting my vote" people who fly off at the nitpickiest stuff. Fred's going to jump in, and he's going to debate, and he's going to tell folks exactly what he is about. People will either support him or support someone else. I cannot repeat this often enough - THERE'S PLENTY OF TIME FOR FRED TO GET IN!

I can't figure this whole Thompson v. Hunter thing out. I prefer Hunter's credentials and philosophy but think Thompson is more capable of winning. I'm pulling for both of them and wouldn't think to insult anyone for backing certain candidates at this point.

The main thing is to beat Hillary. I will vote for Rudy against Hillary if push comes to shove.

I second all you have said. I’m with Fred for the time being simply because I want a conservative in the WH along with a conservative majority Congress. I think Fred is the man to accomplish this.

Spencer was hired as a campaign guy, not because of his inclinations for or against Muslims.
