Ah, that’s right. I forgot.

BTW, as far as I know I’m not yet menopausal. (38 is a hair young for that, I thought.)

Sure are a lot of sensitive SUV drivers on this thread! And I bet their SUVs are as clean as the day they came off the lot.

I understand your feeling- if I had an SUV I would be off-road with it every chance I got.

But to those who just like to drive one, let them enjoy.

(I’ve also been known to cast aspersions on the manhood of middle-aged guys who drive Corvettes.)

Well right now I am 35 with a wife and 3 kids so I cant afford a Vette, however when I am 45 I might want to own the car of my dreams and will finally be able to afford it.

Suv's look far better than a station wagon and have more room. They are also usually a better product. My wife drives a 99 Tahoe that I don't want to sell because its the best vehicle I have ever owned.

That is hilarious! I would have paid to see the XSkids take on those cretins.

Their poor child . . . heck, what am I saying? He’s probably gonna be so far right, he’s a Buchananite.

preach it sista chauffermom! ; )

LOL.

I saw from your earlier post that you have to deal with hockey bags. I have to deal with boys in football pads, which make even the slimmest 11-year-olds linebacker-wide.

For a while I've been driving a friend's diesel Jetta, and while I can appreciate the cost-saving over the Suburban, well... it's no Suburban. (And football season starts up again in just a matter of weeks! [Guess who got suckered into being Team Mom this time around...])

I worked with an actuary who restored and raced Corvettes for a hobby. It was quite interesting.

They're a lot cheaper than Ferrarris and Porsches and (some) perform better too.

For all of me, they can enjoy away.

If their enjoyment of their vehicle of choice is conditional on my keeping silence, I’d say they have bigger issues to deal with than some broad poking fun at them.

Anoreth wants to put controversial bumper stickers on the Purple Thing (1997 Mercury Tracer), but I don’t think her Dad will allow it. She has a very aggressive attitude for such a small girl.

“Neighbor Lucille Liem, 37, who owns a Prius hybrid, said that a common sentiment in the neighborhood is that large vehicles are impractical and a strain on the Earth — and Hummers in particular are a symbol of consumer excess... Liem added quickly that she does not condone violence... “

You know, this almost sounds like the “mainstream” Moslems....

Corvette racing seems to be something of a cult activity :-). This gentleman was over 50 and rather gnomelike, but he had a pretty young girlfriend. I don’t know whether it was the Corvettes that did it, or his mind!

Good thing I don’t know your address, or I’d be sending her stickers that say things like:

NUKE THE GAY BABY WHALES FOR JESUS

EARTH FIRST - WE’LL STRIP-MINE THE OTHER PLANETS LATER

WELCOME TO AMERICA . . . NOW SPEAK ENGLISH

"The thought of somebody vandalizing it never crossed my mind," said Gareth Groves...

Gareth, buy a clue, you live in D.C. the most liberal of liberal enclaves, you are riding around in a Hummer, the most hated of all liberal hates (because algore says it thus it must be true.) Your car is going to be vandalized because that is the way things are in D.C. Either 1. get a new car, 2. move out of Mom's place (to like (the red part of) MD or VA (past NOVA)) or 3. realize this will happen again because you ARE in the insane asylum there, get a lower deductible on your insurance. You live around people that feel that the state should own everything and Karl Marx is a better economist than Milton Friedman. This is the norm one should expect from liberal minds.

Cheers,
CSG

(Who does not display bumper stickers on his car for similar reasons (i.e. liberal vandalism))

i am thinking though that you have not experienced yet the pubesecent STINK of a teen, if your son is only 11. OMG, even a suburban isn't big enough to spread that stink out! my daughters and i talk about buying some of those surgical masks like the nail technicians wear, in order to ride in a vehicle with those horrific smelling boys and their hockey equipment. wait 2 more years and you will be grossed out beyond belief. my son is almost 16 yo now, but the stink starts right around puberty....

Team MOM, bless your heart! i could stress just thinking about that!!

Oh, that would make her popular in the parking lot at Central Piedmont Community College!

Someone let the air out of my tires in the parking garage at work once - I suspect they disapproved of my “I support the Nicaraguan Resistance!” sticker.
