I worked with an actuary who restored and raced Corvettes for a hobby. It was quite interesting.

They're a lot cheaper than Ferrarris and Porsches and (some) perform better too.

Corvette racing seems to be something of a cult activity :-). This gentleman was over 50 and rather gnomelike, but he had a pretty young girlfriend. I don’t know whether it was the Corvettes that did it, or his mind!

That would be the ZO6 with the 427 cid LS7 engine. 505 horsepower and it still gets 24-25 mpg on the highway.
