America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.
Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers.
"It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted."
To applause from his audience of 300 members of Atheists for Human Rights, Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box - dismiss you".

You know the really funny thing is that the Nazis actually didn’t burn down the Reichstag. It was communists, and it was used far more by the Soviets and their followers in Europe as propaganda than by the Nazis. (Nazi documents recovered after the war confirm this, by the way. But like the documents from the Kremlin which prove that the Rosenbergs and Alger Hiss were spies, they’re conveniently annoyed by the leftists).
I also find it funny that the atheists didn’t seem to realize that if Ellision and those like him were in power, that they would all be burned at the stake.

I KNOW my enemy is not President Bush. Bush’s problem is that he does not know who his enemies are. NO elected officeholder in Washington wishes Bush more harm than TEDDY KENNEDY but the boy in the White House keeps going to bed with him, first on the abominable and failing Federal takeover of public education called No Child Left Behind and then AMNESTY.
I find it strange that various lefties do not understand that if Bush were Hitler, they would not be in public office or walking around freely. O, the irony....
President Bush thinks Islam is a “peaceful” religion but considers minutemen “vigilantes”! Go figure.
How on God’s green earth does an electorate see favour in a man like this and actually vote him in? Is his entire constituency Muslim, or just brain dead?
I would say that Ellison is more like the 911 hijackers than Bush is like Hitler.
Since it’s obvious to you that President Bush doesn’t know who the enemies are I would suggest you not vote for him. Vote for someone who does know.
Just when I find myself hating Bush for Illegal Immegration, I find myself defending him when a turd like this opens his filthy sewer.
If Bush was really like the Nazis, he would have thrown people like this in a camp. And if he did that, He would have a lot more supporters.
