ERUSALEM, July 10 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is calling for the resumption of peace talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Olmert told the Arab TV network Al Arabiya that he wants to resume peace talks that stalled between the two nations seven years ago, the Voice of America reported Tuesday.

However, Olmert said talks would be contingent on Syria ending support for Hezbollah, Hamas and other Islamic militant groups and scaling back ties with Iran.

Olmert will probably give back the Golan Heights. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Israel … get rid of this “dammed” lawyer. If not, he will negotiate away all your land.

Yeah, like that's gonna happen. This overture is probably in response to pressure from the Kumbuya clowns at the State Department, so that Olmert can legitimately tell these bozos that he tried it their way, before all hell breaks loose in the region.

They only understand one thing, and that is brutal, unrelenting force.

Tit for tat

I really hope Olmert is being all Sun Tzu here and feigning weakness from a position of strength, but I very much doubt it.

The Palis are not alone in their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Israeli military prowess has jumped the shark. The intellectual socialist appeasers have won the hearts and minds of the useful idiots, and undermine Israeli security with each passive message of weakness.

Fighting the Islamofascists with raw brutal power was their salvation, but they opted to negotiate with liars and thieves.

Israelis too never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
