I ran into a liberal priest yesterday, 7/7/07. He pu-pu the Pope’s directive. He claimed that the only valid Latin mass must contain a homily in Latin too. He is trying to sabotage the movement.

Of course, that is completely hokey! Before Vatican II when the Mass was said in Latin, the Epistle, Gospel and homily were all said in the language of the people in the Church! Remember?

I hate to say it, but that priest is not telling the truth (I almost called him a liar, but decided it would be disrespectful. Maybe he is just mistaken or misled).

We just went to a Latin Mass a couple of weeks ago. It was celebrated by the rector of the local FSSP (indult) parish. You will not find a more orthodox priest anywhere on this continent, and he gave the homily in English (heavily accented English, because he's a Frenchman, but English nonetheless. You had to listen up, but you could understand. It was a good sermon, on the Sacred Heart of Jesus.)

Sounds like the liberal priests I remember who said several years ago that Rome ordered the Communion rails and the high altar to be removed.
I won’t call these perfidious padres liars, but what they say speaks well enough for itself.
