Surely this arrest means jail time?

Jail time for a Democrat? Not even close.

Patrick Kennedy crossed a yellow line into oncoming traffic to make a left turn into a pharmacy and slammed into an oncoming car. A few weeks later, he slams into a barricade while again under the influence. Jail? Now that's funny.

SEE? It's the American people's fault! If we'd only elected the guy, there wouldn't be any drug problems!

APJ enters the thread with this comment at 53 about the WOD...

AxelPaulsenJr: Oh yep, that evil drug war, getting hopped up stone heads who are driving over 100 mph on the streets off the streets. Yup, that damn evil drug war......53

Zon enters the thread at 67, having noticed that APJ mentioned the WOD...

Zon: Speeding is illegal. So is driving while impaired. Has nothing to do with the substance used to impair the driver. Driving while impaired is illegal. You support a return to alcohol prohibition, right? You do want to be consistent, right? I mean, you don't want to be a hypocrite, right?67

AxelPaulsenJr: Alcohol is legal, pot and the opiates are not, get the laws changed then come back and try to turn this thread into a wod thread, other than that, go away. 82

Zon: Apparently your dad let you on the computer again. Your argument at 53 implied a cause and effect relationship between the WOD and speeding. I showed you the immaturity of your argument and in typical fashion your response was you avoiding answering to your hypocrisy. But hey, that's your problem, not mine. Deal with it. Or don't. Makes no difference to me.179AxelPaulsenJr: Zon knows full well that AP was responding to another posters number 2, where that poster attempted to link this thread to the wod.

That's irrelevant. We are talking about you and I. You mentioned the WOD in your 53 post. In my response at 67, I didn't mention the WOD and I did mention alcohol prohibition. In your post 82 you accuse me of trying to turn this into a WOD thread despite I had yet to mention the WOD and you had mentioned the WOD in both your posts.

AxelPaulsenJr: Other than that, I don't care to discuss the wod with you.

Then why do you keep talking abut the WOD which you wrote about before I even entered the thread -- which you then had the stupidity to claim it was me that wanted to talk about the WOD instead of you answering the questions put to you at 67. Why? Because you can't rationally answer the questions. Rational being the operative word. Enough of that. I don't want to discuss the WOD either.

Are you going to apologize for blaming me for that which you did? Not in a million years would you have even that much integrity. Go ahead, prove me wrong.

The Gore family equivalent of Jimmy Carters brother Billie.

The Acorn doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

As Jimmy Carter’s mother said, “If I knew what kind of kids I would have, I would have remained a virgin”.

Jeb Bush's daughter was fodder for months...

I was thinking about that, too. I seem to recall that Noelle Bush was covered fairly extensively in the press for her drug arrests.

“Al Gore says he’s dealing with his son’s arrest in California “as a private family matter.”

Gore is asking for the MSM to make the story vanish and like a herd sheep they will follow his request. The Global Warming guru and his MSM pals will begin promoting a sob story to cover his son’s illegal activity.

My understanding Gore III was packing a suitcase full of illegally prescribed meds. Appears if they were obtained in CA. there will be a pharmacist or medical Doc. that will be going down with Gore III.

California state commoners are unable to purchase some over the counter, common cold remedies without signing and showing personal ID for the legal consumption of some meds.

Al Gore asking for preferential treatment? Forget it. A prison jumpsuit and baloney sandwiches are awaiting Gore III.

It isn’t a private matter when he is going 100 mph on the freeway and endangering the people on the road.

Oh, wait, he doesn’t care about us little people.

I wonder if AlGore will ask Bush for a “pardon” for his son? Surely this arrest means jail time?

The presidential pardon power only applies to Federal offenses.

Cheney's lesbian daughter was also a private family matter but that didn't seem to phase the 2004 Dem ticket from bringing it up. At least Mary Cheney wasn't on the road to a potential vehicular manslaughter and doing drugs illegally.

By virtue of an arrest, it is no longer a private matter but is public record.

Just like gravity, the rules will apply to the Gores.

I bet the Gore Jr is fuming this morning, as this latest flareup by his son may put the whammy on his stupid, late charge Presidential campaign. Of course the idiot is so enjoying all the adulation his global warming scam is heaping upon him, he may not run for President. But he’s such a sick puppy, he might still try and win.

Any chance the Clinton political machine was behind this ? You have to know the loser Gore III has been smoking weed and driving around like a maniac for years. The police probably had him in their sights. The big concert this weekend, all the fawning over the bloated MANBEARPIG and now a few days before, the police nab the son and ruin Al’s big weekend with the stars !!!

I know it’s crazy to see the Clinton’s in everything, but this kid just didn’t start acting like this two days ago and the timing is so perfect for Bubba & the PIAPS. You know the Clinton team are watching anyone close to anyone daring to run against her, just waiting for the right moment to present itself.

No, he's getting treatment. That covers for jail time. Do try to keep up.

The presidential pardon power only applies to Federal offenses.

I'm not so sure that is true. The constitution grants the president the power to pardon for crimes against "The United States". I believe an argument could be made that a crime against the state of California, would be included in the general term of a crime against "The United States".

BTW, drug posession and transportation can be and often is prosecuted as a federal crime. Bush could pardon Gore III. In fact, I think it would be hilarious if he did. It would be a shrewd move. One would have to wonder if Al Gore Senior would advise his son not to accept it.

Message to Bush: PARDON AL GORE!

I'm not so sure that is true.

Unless my bar review course lied to me, it is. (Then again, for the purposes of the bar exam, when the course teaches 85% of the candidates, what they say is, by definition, right enough.)

Our local morning radio guy called Al the Third’s drug-filled Prius a “mobile Walgreens.” LOL!

I hope this poor little rich kid gets the help he so OBVIOUSLY needs.
