Fred Thompson on Libby
NBC ^ | 7/2/07 | Joel Seidman

Likely presidential candidate Fred Thompson (R) released this statement: "I am very happy for Scooter Libby. I know that this is a great relief to him, his wife and children. While for a long time I have urged a pardon for Scooter, I respect the President's decision. This will allow a good American, who has done a lot for his country, to resume his life."

After the pardons Bubba gave, I don’t see how she can afford to say very much.

They pardoned 8 terrorist bombers who killed a cop.

“What Bush did was smart though. Libby can appeal his conviction without spending time in prison, and if he’s exonerated, the MSM/Dims can’t whine about Bush “supporting corruption blah blah” because the system will work. If the conviction holds, Bush will just pardon him before he leaves office.”

Correct. I had no idea there was such a thing as a partial pardon, but it’s a great solution.

You can't hear the shrieking where you are??? Ye gods, man, she's squealing and howling like a dry crank bearing at 4,000rpm!

ERRR, I'm sure they're just pissed this happened on a holiday week when our attention is somewhat diverted because they LIVE to scream about stuff like this - even though they probably would have done the same thing themselves. Hillary would have a hard time screaming about pardons anyway.

“Can’t wait for 2008, although I’m a Hunter fan, Mr. Thompson is looking good.”

Wonder how a Thompson/Hunter ticket would play.

The commutation will take the issue off the front-burner in a few days... the conspiracy that wasn't is dead.

Anyone seen Romney’s or Hunter’s statement? Or do they exist?
