Nearly $1M in motor homes stolen (Toronto)
Police are asking the public to be on the lookout after more than $800,000 worth of motor homes were stolen north of Toronto.
The vehicles were taken from the Hitch House on the well-known stretch of Highway 11 known as Gasoline Alley in Oro-Medonte Township overnight between July 7 and 8, the OPP say.
A 2007 Spartan Travel Supreme worth nearly $550,000, a 2007 Endura Gulfstream worth $144,000, and a used 2004 Endura Gulfstream worth $80,000 were stolen from the RV centre, which sells high-end motor homes, Const. George Silvestri with Barrie OPP said today.
“It’s one of the biggest I can recall in recent memory,” said Silvestri about the theft, adding that he’s been a police officer for 28 years and with the Barrie detachment for three years.
“It is one of the larger ones that have come out of this office.”
