The end of the Fairness Doctrine did not spawn conservative talk radio. Biased broadcast media did by systematically and methodically withholding (i.e., omitting) news stories and issue positions that appeared to support conservative causes.

Thanks. It used to be that the MSM would claim that no one forced people to buy their newspapers or watch their news programs. The problem worsened in 1976 when journalists decided that they could not remain neutral on the issues of the day. That's when advocacy journalism, separate from the editorial pages, was born.

Now there are plenty of alternative news outlets, not the least the Internet. Consequently, customers are leaving the MSM in droves, driven by the dinosaur media's institutionalized arrogance. They are no longer the only game in town. Democracy will benefit as their citizenry becomes better informed.
