Every govenor of a border state should be outraged at this game of political chicken the Congress critters are playing with their states.

It is no longer just the border states. The problem has metastasized throughout the country, which is why grassroots organizations are springing up all over the country, e.g. Hazelton, PA, Herndon and Manassas VA, Oklahoma, etc. The states and local communities are bearing the brunt of the costs and impact as they see their schools, hospitals, law enforcement, and social welfare services decline and costs increase. One of the reasons that this bill achieved such a frantic sense of urgency by its supporters was to head-off and undermine local and state legislation to deal with this invasion. If the federal government is unwilling to enforce our borders and bring this problem under control, the people will. It is why only 26% of the people supported this bill.

And the sad thing after all the effort made is that we are still in the same position of looking local for relief.

We are going to get little if any support for unsecured borders and the illegal immigration invasion from the the Feds, IMHO.

If we get any help at all it will be locally., Locals that create zoning regs that get rid of 50 illegals per home or local laws that can and will fine employers who employ them etc etc.

I agree the problem has spread. But if you shit off the hydrant...the stream will eventually dry up.

And in the meantime we start rounding up and deporting the illegals BACK to the side of the fence on which they belong.

Odd, I keep hearing from the Right how everyone agrees with them.

http://www.pollingreport.com/immigration.htm

Cannot see it in the polling data. Amazing how the Right simply wants to declare victory because they simply stopped the other side and go back to sleep.

Guess it is far too tough for the poor little darlin’s to actually get something done. They would actually have to get involved and fight the Left rather then just pat themselves on the back about how wonderful they all are while screaming bile at their own political allies.

CNN Poll of June 22-24 2007 1,029 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3.

“As you may know, the U.S. Senate has been considering a bill to change the way the government handles the issue of illegal immigration. Based on what you have read or heard about all the proposals in the Senate immigration bill, do you favor or oppose that bill?” If oppose: “Do you oppose the Senate immigration bill MOSTLY because you think it goes too far toward helping illegal immigrants, or MOSTLY because it does not go far enough toward helping illegal immigrants?”

Favor/Goes Too Far/Doesn’t Go Far / Other / Unsure
