Original remarks?I think this is what the above is referencing.
Pretty stupid to suggest that Cuban immigrants -- illegal or not -- are coming here to cause us harm. Hell, they're the only latin-american group that vote SOLIDLY republican. (Bush got 84% of the C/A vote in 2000.)
Old Fred apparently wants to jeopardize that support. Brilliant political move.

This is not gonna help him in Florida. And Florida will be strategically significant in this primary season. A few weeks before the vote you can expect his opponents to start running adds about this. I just hope this doesn’t hurt the GOP as a whole with hispanics. Hillary is diabolical and knows very well what she’s doing.

That’s great that the legal immigrants vote conservative. Do you think the Cubans here are for open borders?
I’m surprised a Mitt Romney fan, of all people, couldn’t see through this hit piece.

Why must you Romney supporters spin and throw mud? If your guy is so darn wonderful tell us why and leave the bashing to the left.

Anybody who knows my track record or has read some of the things Ive written about the Cuban-American community knows where I stand. While the communist dictatorship has been a tragedy for Cuba, America has been in some ways, at least, the beneficiary
The bad that is Castros tyranny has given America one of the greatest communities in the Western Hemisphere.
I dont think Fred was backing down or making any kind of apology to anyone. He was just going back to his original words and throwing them back in their faces words that IMHO are absolutely correct.
Cuban Americans are for the most part, quite conservative, patriotic and virulently anti-communist law abiding citizens.
And hes right about Gloria Estefan.
Estefan is an ardent opponent of communism, who has spoken often of her desire for a free and democratic Cuba. In 1995, she sang the Billboard Latin #1 song Mas Allá for Pope John Paul II as part of the celebration of his 50th anniversary in the priesthood. She was the first pop star invited to perform for the Pope. At their meeting, Estefan, an anti-communist, asked the Pope to pray for a free Cuba. She has been an active opponent of Fidel Castros government, and supported the unsuccessful effort to keep young Elián González in the United States.

Another ignorant Mitt Romney supporter attacking Fred.
Pretty stupid to suggest that Cuban immigrants -- illegal or not -- are coming here to cause us harm.
So you deny the fact that Castro has long been infiltrating agents into the US?
Why do you wallow in ignorance with Hillary when it's so easy to get the facts?
