I guess the implication is that if we get out of Iraq, these attacks will stop.

In 1949, Truman pulled our troops out of S. Korea, 4 years after it was freed.

In 1950, Truman sent troops to S. Korea to win it back from the occupying army of Kim il-Sung, which had invaded S. Korea.

34,000 Americans died in Korea, from 1950-1953. They would not have died if we had not prematurely abandoned S. Korea.
