Follow the money. Find the source. Shut it off. That means change your spending and shopping habits. To do otherwise is fantasy, wishful thinking. But be prepared to make a few changes. I’m doing it. Many will.

Contact the biggest five or ten or twenty firms you can find a contact in. The higher up the better of course–but any level will do. Identify yourself and tell them how much you have spent in the recent past at their place of business.
Tell them you are dropping off a sign at their place of business and you will shop there IF and ONLY IF the sign is prominently displayed in the entry area. Tell them you will also be soon stopping by their location and providing them a Personal Affidavit for the Manager On Duty to sign, with preagreed mitigatory damages.
Start thinking like this. Start making your supply chain accountable for the full range of consequences.
If they refuse, walk away and create a competing ecosystem.

Unfortunately, I think you're absolutely correct about that. The people, over time, have shown themselves to have neither the will nor the stamina to do without for a greater cause.
It’s much easier to tap into the 85% of disenfranchised Americans with one theme requiring only a commitment to that theme. With this leverage, the masses can demand change.
