PRESIDENT BUSH: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I'm sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning.
Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people, and Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn't find common ground. It -- it didn't work. ...
Rollin, rollin, rollin
Though the Rio Grande’s swollen
Keep them wetbacks rollin
Rawhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin George Bush was on our side.
All the things hes forgettin,
His legacy hell be regrettin
Are waiting at the end of this ride
CHORUS
Move em on, head em up
Head em up, move em on
Move em on, head em up
Rawhide
Count em out, ride em in,
Ride em in, count em out,
Count em out, ride em in
Rawhide!
Keep movin, movin, movin,
Though theyre disapprovin,
Keep them wetbacks movin Rawhide!
(whip crack sound, Howard Dean yell)
Dont try to understand em,
Just deport and disband em,
Soon well be living high and wide.
Boy my hearts calculatin
My true countrys waitin,
waiting at the end of our ride.
(whip crack and Howard Dean yell)
Move em on, head em up,
Head em up, move em out,
Move em on, head em out Rawhide!
Set em out, ride em in>
Ride em in, let em out,
Cut em out, ride em in Rawhide.
(multiple whip cracks and Howard Dean yeaa-a-a-a sounds!)
And Mr. Troll, just who is that Real american you crave.
Very good points.
As President isn’t he the status quo?
We won’t see you at the bill signing?
(sarcasm)

Where were these people when he told everyone he was pro-(illegal)immigrant in 2000 and 2004? His position is no surprise to anyone paying attention.
The bill is dead and we are still far better off with him as president than any of the other choices in ‘00 and ‘04.
I’ll bet you after all the complaining about the failed bill the President still won’t get it and still won’t build the wall that was already approved. The wall that was supposed to have been built will be ignored, as if it was never an issue. That’s why people are pissed, because everyone knows it.
You call people names then cry foul when I ponder if you are insane due to your inane posts? My friend, making calls, sending letters and emails IS the equivalent of throwing tea in the harbor nowadays, actually it is because of those brave fellas we can do it this way now. As to anonymity, ALL my correspondence to the powers that be include full name and contact info. And it’s not just me silly man it’s millions of real Americans. Millions. The response to the Bush/Senate attempt at a hostile takeover of our sovereignty has been entirely rational. I’m so sorry you cannot see this for what it is. I know it is hard to face the truth that people you trusted and looked up to in government don’t give a rat’s ass about you and would sell you out in a heartbeat. But hey that’s life and you can keep your rose-colored glasses on. How about letting others vent and not being a crybaby?
Correct - the accusations of "sneakiness" are simply not credible.
The bill is dead and we are still far better off with him as president than any of the other choices in 00 and 04.
The forest from the trees.
That’s cute!
It takes more courage to admit a mistake, and try to fix the problem, than there is continuing to deny there's even a problem, or that one made a mistake. What's worse, nothing can be fixed or changed until the ROSE-COLORED glasses are TAKEN OFF. Until that happens problems/mistakes someone made can NEVER be addressed.
Jorge has never met a lie he wasn't willing to tell, there is that post earlier today about how many earmarks he requested in one bill, it was over 900 million.
He’s doing a great bob and weave on us with his double talk about fixing all the broken systems and at the same time loading these systems up with poor illiterate people who can’t speak English.....And I’m suppose to respect someone who says something that stupid?... Sounds like a train wreck to me!
That’s a good idea, building a wall from coast to coast, and once that is accomplished, we can start working on deporting people. Once we have the wall, we will have time on our side, it doesn’t MATTER if it takes 50 years to deport people, at least we will have fixed the leak and eventually the boat will float again. It will actually work to encourage the illegals to seek the LEGAL way of becoming legal according to the current laws on the books BEFORE they get caught, gee WHAT A CONCEPT!!!
What name did I call you? Are you not an "anonymous individual" on this forum? Did that description offend you?

As you admit, it is because they were courageous that it now takes zero courage to write, call or post one's opinion in internet forums or Congressional offices and phone banks. It's easy, uncontroversial and millions do it as a matter of routine.
The response to the Bush/Senate attempt at a hostile takeover of our sovereignty has been entirely rational.
This had nothing to do with sovereignty: it was about the rule of law. It was a bad bill and it was defeated - as it should have been.
My concern is the debased tone of the debate engaged in by people who should know better.
How about letting others vent and not being a crybaby?
If you want to behave uncivilly, I have every right to comment on it.
I note that you simply cannot post without namecalling.
