You are right about Senator Byrd. He saved amnesty a few years ago. He stopped Bushs first amnesty attempt. We have a lot to thank him for even though he is a Democrat. At least he voted “no”.

I’ve alway like Sen.Byrd. He reminds me of a character out of Inherit the Wind (the monkey trial movie with Spencer Tracy). He was completely loyal to West Virginia people and they are loyal to him. He accomplished much for that state. I heard him speak in his younger days. Let me tell you, modern politicians can not speak this way-what a command of the english language Sen. Byrd had.
