Live Thread: Senate Amnesty Debate (CRITICAL 2ND CLOTURE VOTE TODAY!) Woo hoo!! It's DEAD!!
The U.S. Senate with Free Republic Input | June 28, 2007 | truthkeeper

Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.

On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.

Boehner is doing a rather decent job in the House.

I love the President for the job he has done on the war, the economy, the justices, that he cut taxes, and increased IRA benefit amounts and many other things.

He is 100% dead wrong on this one though. Couldn’t possibly be more wrong. On this one, John Kerry, Al Gore, Ted Kennedy and George W. Bush all agree. Thats awful company for the President to be in.

An hour after cloture fails, the post dangerous road in the country will the one from DC to Reagan National as Capitol Hill clears out for July 4th recess.

Every person in Capitol Hill knows this. USCIS/INS has been a thorn in their side (”the worst agency in the federal government”) for at least two decades. And so it remains.

#####

And how many hearings have our esteemed legislators had over these 20 years trying to improve it or make it functional, al least. They have plenty of time to harass the Executive Branch for political reasons, but seem to totally avoid their responsibility in oversight of the shameful immigration process handling.

Just lost my audio completely—thank goodness for FR or I wouldn’t know what’s going on. Brownback voted AYE? Well, he just kissed his presidential campaign goodbye.
