That's correct. I read somewhere (wish I could recall where) that large-scale employers of illegals could become the targets of citizen-initiated RICO lawsuits.
It's one thing for Tyson or the American Home Builders Association to have hapless and impotent DoJ and ICE investigators sniffing around their workplaces. It's quite another to have a couple million extremely PO'd "nativist" Americans filing one RICO suit after another.
In any case since the bill will immediately immunize illegal aliens from prosecution after GWB signs it, so by extension will employers be immunized.

I’m sorry to say it but Kit Bond is either the dumbest person on the hill or he thinks we’re all stupid. It does not matter what amendment gets attached to the bill. THE POWERS THAT BE will strip away any amendments they don’t want when they get into conference with the House. He knows this, I believe Lott even stated this, and Fat Teddy is counting on this fact.
For him to be saying he’s voting for a chance to amend this bill is beyond ignorant.

Voinovich knows we’re coming! If I knew where he lived in Cleveland, I bring a group up to protest at his home over the holiday! The local media would be all over it. Ohioans need to know to what extend he has shut out his constituants so that he is not elected again. He’s a coward without the guts to make a statement anywhere on his position, but he has no right to ignore ours. He’d be hard pressed to ignore 25 people standing on his treelawn.
I’m confused. That was on 6/16. Is there something in the works in the near future?
