We're not allowed to post any content from PC Magazine here, but Dvorak's column on the iPhone may strike a chord with some here ;-}
Shut Up About the iPhone, Already!
Other way around. They used a model with a large hand to make the phone look smaller.
You really need to get accurate information on the iPhone. No wonder you’re bashing it.
Still a bad marketing call by Apple.....
Most 3G phones will access the Edge network when 3G isn’t available....
I won’t buy another phone with only just Edge technology...
I need to access my company’s server and Edge is too slow for the applications....OK for e-mail...
Unlimited Internet Minutes!!!
Then why are text messages limited to 200?
What do think of AT&T’s coverage?

First review:

“...judging by comparable offerings from AT&T and other carriers, it should run you at least $50 per month in voice service and $40 per month in data service. That adds more than $2,000 to the iPhone’s price tag over two years”
I wonder if his review will change when he sees the rates.
“You can bet that iPhone 2.0, probably available within the next year, will be faster and have more storage - probably for the same price.”
Of course, but isn’t that going to be true almost every year?
Have you ever tried wit? Or do you stop half-way?
iPhone isn’t made for business, and AT&T will not allow business account holders to buy the thing. Thankfully. It’s really tiring how every new smartphone is made for business use, rather than personal use.
Just get a Blackberry and be happy. Let those of us who don’t have the need for a business account to get a phone that works for us.
I am using Parallels. I have OS X, Windows XP, and SuSE Linux running on my MacBook even as we speak.
LOL!
I just love Dvorak's stuff, most of the time.
Nevermind.
The poor fool is getting ripped to shreds on the NYPost message board!

He didn’t know what the heck he was saying on several points.
One excerpt:
So you wrote this when you got to use a real journalist’s review unit for 5 minutes, and before you knew that AT&T’s talk/data plan was going to start at $60 instead of $90.
So you thought you’d compare a cellphone screen with a laptop.
So you thought you’d get a scoop by being first with a review.
So you’re a total idiot, and you’ve made your fish and chips wrapper of a newspaper look like even more a rag than it did already.
I’m ashamed to hear you’re a Mac user. You should use a Dell, seriously. You don’t deserve any better.
Your write up is gutter journalism at its worst, and totally in tune with the rest of the publication.
LOL. It is the perfect hand isn't it? Perfect skin and nails, airbrushed and perfected to perfection!!
That's Al Gore logic. The monthly fee is for the service that will be the same regardless of the price of the phone.
Of course, but isnt that going to be true almost every year?
And for every electronic product.
I just picked up the LG VX8700 two weeks ago. Awesome phone! Yes, the screen has to be wiped every now and then, but other than that, it’s great. Excellent battery life, excellent sound quality, and Bluetooth runs flawlessly on the thing. I even go two days before having to charge it. My last phone was the LG VX6100 - that thing was a POS.
I could care less how the iPod anything works in a car, I wouldn’t buy an iPod anything, or iPhone for that matter. I am old fashioned, cars are made for driving ... and paying attention to the road is first priority when doing that. Safety is paramount when driving, not fiddling with nav systems, text messages, playing music or videos. Gadgets are made for your study, or anything else which doesn’t have a steering wheel.
I was the same way and had two other mp3 players before I bought mine (Archos, Creative Labs) ... then I got one of these.
Bar none the ipod is the BEST mp3 player I have ever worked with. And yes I use it a lot. Yard work, workouts, line-in to the car stereo ... it's awesome.

Good graphic potlatch!
Thanks devolve but it’s just off of an ad for the I-Phone.
Nice looking hand though, lol.
I do stop halfway! And I drive a Corvette. And live in a lighthouse... I-- I-- I feel it all means something, but it hurts when I try to think... |
