Feinstein might push for fairness doctrine

WASHINGTON, June 24 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., said Sunday she is "looking at" the possibility of reviving the fairness doctrine for U.S. broadcasters. Feinstein, speaking on "Fox News Sunday" with Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., said talk radio in particular has presented a one-sided view of immigration reform legislation being considered by the Senate.

U.S. talk radio is dominated by conservative voices.

"This is a very complicated bill," said Feinstein. "Most people don't know what's in this bill. Therefore, to just have one or two things dramatized and taken out of context, such as the word amnesty -- we have a silent amnesty right now, but nobody goes into that. Nobody goes into the flaws of our broken system."

Feinstein said the measure before the Senate "fixes those flaws" but that doesn't get presented on talk radio, which she said "pushes people to ... extreme views without a lot of information."

Asked if she would revive the fairness doctrine, which used to require broadcasters to present competing sides of controversial issues, Feinstein said she was "looking at it."

The Correctness Doctrine lives! And I'm sure that Trent Lott was in agreement, at least tacitly.

Maybe the people who speak out againt our rulers should be rounded up and put in a goat fence.

After all, nothing should get in the way of a homebuilder having cheap labor.

That’s what Stalinist do.

Dear Senator Feinstein,

Let’s make a deal! The Left gets talk-radio and the Right gets TV, Hollywood, printmedia and youtube in return. Have a problem with this deal?

On second thought... why not just stuff your totalitarian BS up your rear.

Cordially,

SolidWood

Her husband’s a bazillionaire. Let him try to make a buck with liberal talk radio.

Competition, darling.

"This is a very complicated bill," said Feinstein. "Most people don't know what's in this bill.

Aint nuthin complicated about it and the reason most people don't know what's in it is because SOCIALISTS like you MS Feinstein want to hide it!

Now, most people know what's in this bill.

That's more like it.
The cat got out of the bag.... thanks to radio, blogs and forums.

The problem is that Conservatism and Liberalism are both theories. Both have the same set of facts. It is not possible to say an issue is C or L because it is both. We have FedGov, that’s a fact. Most of the rest is aesthetics.

It’s all about Rush Limbaugh. He’s quoted constantly by the drive by media. They can’t stand his success. They can’t compete with him and they can’t understand why. According to the liberal elites, anyone listening to Rush has an IQ of a tree root and we all watch Nascar and wrestling. It’s always been about Rush Limbaugh.

Perhaps Dianne Feinstein should explain to the American people why her husband, Richard Blum, is making money off the war she calls illegal? Should her husband be jailed for making money off this illegal war? What nonsense.

Might push? She and allot of other liberals are pushing it both in the house and the senate. And they'll have the likes of Lott and others, supposedly on our side, to join them. And they'll probably get it, because they really don't care what we tell them. Take amnesty bill as a for instance.....

Those on the left are too immature for verbal discussion. That’s why they live on the FM side of radio…where their marching orders are provided to them in song.

She will push the Fairness Doctrine if she thinks she is going to get pushed for her conflicts of interest problems. She will pander to her base.

She could also explain how she, in her committee position, came to the decision to give all those DOD contracts to hubby’s firms.

I dont think the left realizes how this could backfire. Imagine if the right now gets to equal time on tv, pbs, public radio, newspapers, websites, movies, all tv programs, classrooms in all schools etc.... The whole reason the right goes to the radio is because all other media shoves the leftist view down our throats and we should let the left know this decision will end up hurting them
